I did not know this. I used Tylenol 2 once (with prescription). It has codeine in it, I used it when I had my wisdom teeth taken out.

I told my mother about it when she found that Vicodin made her ill, when she had her shoulder dislocated.

From what I have heard antibiotics are available over the counter in Europe.

In the U.S. we can't even buy certain cold medications without I.D. (and our info being taken) because large quantities can be made into Meth.

I have visited Canada and never noticed anything with Codeine. The only thing I really remember seeing that you can't get in the US is muscle relaxers (Methocarbamol)...what did I miss? I'll be back soon...where do I go? :)

What part?

I have never seen that - I've lived in France, Ireland and the UK and spent a fair amount of time in 3 or 4 other European countries and I have never seen that. Of course that doesn't mean it doesn't happen but it certainly isn't the norm in the places I have lived.

A guy I knew from Portugal said he got them over the counter.

From what I've heard it's called 222 or deux,deux,deux.

Yes. My mother buys those 222's and they have codeine in them.

No country should sell antibiotics OTC. The superbug problem is real and should be taken seriously.

The cold medication that you mentioned is sold OTC here but you can only buy a maximum of 2 packages. You need many packages to make meth.

Wow! I guess I missed that in the drug store! I wasn't looking for anything, but was perusing out of curiosity (hence the noticing of muscle relaxers).
I went to Myrtle Beach last year and was carded for cold medicine. I could only buy one and they logged my license ID# to insure that I would not buy more than the allowed amount during a certain part of time is what the cashier told me.

Yeah 222's are great. But in Canada you use to need a 'script. Don't know now. In Turkey you can get almost anything over the counter. Anti-biotics, steroids, viagra, almost anything. It's not good, I agree about the superbug problem.

That's a pain killer, with codiene

In Ontario (Canada), you can buy a codiene preparation, over the counter.
You must ASK for it tho. Usually no more than 8 MG codiene phosphate. This is equivalant to the Tylenol #1

The reasoning behind that law, is that some cold medicines are used to cook up crystal meth.. Methamphetamine.

In Nova Scotia you can get regular Tylenol with codeine in it. It's not very strong but it's good when you have a really bad ass headache

You will find tetracycline and sulfa drugs on the shelf in an aquarium store in the US.
Everything is available OTC in Mexico and Central American countries, I have seen this firsthand in Costa Rica. You can easily find a place that sells online, I have noticed places in Panama that do so, it might not make through customs.

Anaprox is very good for menstrual cramps. For years it was the only thing that would phase the pain. Boy i do not miss having periods at all!

As for my knees, darvocet is the only thing i can take.
I've been using Pamprin Extra strength for cramps and tylenol 3 with codine / advil liqui gels extra strength.
