Last year I was freaking out thinking that I had HSV2 (genital). A doctor took one look at a little blister that came and said it was. He prescribed Valtrex. I really felt crap as I never take bad risks but have received a few blowjobs without a condom.

I had STI screening and all was negative. I'm aware that the test cannot detect latent HSV2 unless it has fluid. However doctor said to me that the little mark on my penis shaft was barely noticeable and was scar tissue from the circumcision. Last week I went for more tests and all was negative. A new doctor looked at penis and said it was a pilonidal hole from the circumcision and he was 100% convinced that it is not anything to be worried about. He said I'm overthinking it and googling too much.

I'm afraid some partner will look at it and think it's herpes. What I suspect happened is that it got infected and that's why I saw the little blister. But I'm annoyed at the doctor who told me that it was DEFINITELY herpes. It has made me really afraid to fool around.

Can circumcision pilonidal cysts become infected and blister?
