Um. No!

It is the epitome of counter-productivity for any gay American to support the political party that impedes the gay rights movement's quest for equality at every turn and, moreover, has actually expressly written their desire to re-criminalize gay sex into their party platforms.

The Democrats are entirely too quick to shelve gay rights issues for the sake of political expediency, but at least they aren't actively working against us.

Gay Republicans deserve to be hung out to dry.
So tell us again why Bill Clinton is so highly regarded in the gay community? After coming up with a "hide in the closet" bill which is what Don't ask don't tell essentially was, people give him a pass and he was working against gays. It took longer than it should have and a lot of pressure but eventually President Obama signed it out of being.

It's known that most Republicans will work against the rights of the gay community, but at least they don't pretend that they are open minded and then do things which prove they aren't.

You're being a bit unfair to President Clinton. One of Clinton's campaign promises was to completely eliminate the ban on gays serving in the US military. And much to his credit, this was one of his first legislative initiatives during the first year of his presidency. The proverbial shit hit the fan, however, with widespread criticism from the military brass, key members of Congress and, of course, the religious right and all their minions. After conservative members of Congress introduced legislation that would formally ban all gays from serving in the military, Clinton countered with "compromise" legislation, DADT. Ultimately, DADT was codified into Federal law. So just like national healthcare (aka HillaryCare), Clinton had the right idea and tried to do the right thing, but was thwarted by forces beyond his control.

As for your last point, can't argue much...especially when you saw just how close the vote on the repeal of DADT was.

This really is a small world. I actually live in Pinal County AZ (San Tan Valley) and this was such a scandal over here. They found something else on him in another state where is was practically abusing his power at a school for troubled youth. His own sister said he was dating one of ths students there.

I actually remember seeing him on adam4adam when I moved here, never would have thought it would be the sheriff in my own county.

Say it ain't so, Paul! Shocking his 69 supporters in Pinal County, AZ, Sheriff Paul Babeu announced he is withdrawing (his seven inch cock and the rest of his buff body) from his run for Congress. Image that! But, allay your tears, he will run for another term as Pinal County Sheriff. Please make out your campaign checks to "The Committee to Re-elect the Hottest Damn Douchebag Sheriff in Arizona." Sheriff Babeu and his seven inches sincerely "Thank you" and if you're Latino (and are documented), his seven inches will thank you in person. (BTW, IMHO Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is actually more of a douche, but loses badly on the hot factor.)

You are a typical liberal asshole. Where is the proof the boyfriend was illegal? Those of us in Arizona who are involved in the legal system have known for a long time that Paul is gay. It's just that for most of us conservatives, it's no big deal. Who cares? It's the loser Democrats who will hypocritically demolish him now. What he did was just plain stupid -- anyone in a position of public responsibility should never, ever have done what he did. He's cut his own throat on this. Too bad, because he is a really nice, honorable, hard-working public servant.
Democrats are not losers anymore......:nono:....Wake up and smell the coffee!

Paul Babeu, the sheriff in Arizona’s Pinal County, is running for a seat in the US House of Representatives again – this time as an openly gay man.

Babeu was outed by an ex-boyfriend during his first bid for a congressional seat in 2012 and eventually dropped out.

‘It’s time to bring that fight directly to Washington,’ Babeu said this week in
announcing his bid to represent Arizona’s 1st District. ‘People don’t want to send the same politicians to Washington to get the same failed policies. … They want to send politicians they can trust with change.’

Babeu was closeted when the ex-boyfriend, long living in the US illegally, alleged that he threatened to have him deported after they split. Babeu denied the allegation, vowed to continue his run for congress, but he did resign from his position as chairman the Mitt Romney’s presidential effort in Arizona.

Babeu was exonerated of any wrongdoing after a federal investigation but he lost a lot of support and eventually dropped out of the congressional race. Instead ran for another term as sheriff which he had first been elected in 2008.

Babeu now says he could have prevented the scandal had he been open about his sexual orientation in the first place.

‘That was a very difficult time for me personally and politically,’ he said this week.

‘I trust the voters to judge me on my performance, my merit and my contributions to the community.’

Babeu still won re-election as sheriff, despite also having been tied to the DeSisto House, a boarding school where he served as Headmaster and Executive Director from 1999-2001 in Massachusetts. Apparently under Babeu’s leadership, the school was being investigated for repeated allegations of the abuse of children, including forced strip searches and forcing the kids into group showers, which led to additional abuse.

Not to mention,
an account from Babeu’s sister Lucy that he allowed a 17 year old male from the school live with him, and that he told her he was Paul’s boyfriend.
