Having had the intention of doing so for the past few months, I finally made my way westwards on Sunday and visited Pipeworks for the first time.
Wow, was I impressed! My only point of reference was a few visits to Steamworks in Edinburgh, an establishment crying out for a refurbishment. I can say this with total confidence: if Pipeworks opens an outlet in Edinburgh, the capital's two saunas will be blown out of the water.
Not only are the recently refurbished facilities over three floors larger and much better than those in the Edinburgh sauna, there is a higher level of staffing and cleaning & maintenance. The management team in Glasgow is dedicated to a programme of constant improvement. Bonus point: at weekends, Pipeworks does not close Friday and Saturday nights. Moreover, the complementary coffee is excellent.
It looks like I am due to become a frequent traveller along the M8.
If you were thinking of visiting, don't. Just do it.
