I had an awful experience today. Went to wal mart to check on an order - then left there. Was going to meet a person to give some paperwork too and my cars engine got hot. Gauge went to HOT and the service engine light came on - just down the road was a small park with a lake, I pulled into there and stopped my car. Opened my hood, went to the lake to get some water in a few bottles to put into the radiator. Here come the cops - 2 cars. Pulled up behind me and quized me on why I was there. I told them what happened and they told me that I was there soliciting - NO ONE was there but me. They took my drivers license - then came back handed it back to me and kept badgering me. Over and over.l They kept saying we had a report you were here soliting for sex. They kept telling me I was lieing. I was on the phone to my wife to tell her to come get me and the cop told me to hang up. I was so upset and said so you want me to say I was here for sex right! then he said I have enough to arrest you now but I am going to give you a warning. I don't want to ever see you in our parks again. I agreed and they left. No ticket just them yelling at me - so I just tried to tell them what happened and they kept yelling at me. I left the park and went to the gas station and bought some antifreeze and put it in the resivoire. What should I do - file a complaint. or just let it alone. I am afraid they are going to come to my house or something. Just pissed me off.

File a complaint right away.
The cops now know who you are and could easily add something on your file and put you on their sex offender file.

Also see if someone at Walmart will verify the time you were their.

You were bullied. If you do not speak up, someone else will get the same treatment, and have their civil rights taken away, just as you did.
These cops are not above the law. The state law, anyway. If their bosses talk with them, they will listen. Just calmly state the facts, and your words will speak for themselves.

I have a completely clean record. No arrest, no points on my license, etc. I guess there has been some activity in the parks so they just decided to pick on me. It was the city cops and not the sheriffs office. If there is no ticket - is there still a record? I've never been stopped or bothered by the cops so it really shook me up. When they ran my license I am sure they did not find anything. I had rather let it drop and hope it goes away since I am married with kids.

File a complaint immediately. Damn shame, instead of catching robbers and crooks, they're out harassing law abiding citizens. I hope you managed to take down the officers names, it will make things a lot easier. My mother was an officer and upon being stopped by the police I was taught the most important thing to do is get as much information as possible about the officers.

since I am married with kids.

possibly a reason to go higher, to there seniors .. go thru a lawyer maybe
expense but, all good for the next generations surely.

If it happened to me, i would ensure the MP (Member of Parliament) for my area would know about it, then he would be expected / i would expect him, to complain to the Police Commissioner, and so it goes Down the chain, rather than an often unreliable way of going up the chain.

Fck em all ... i expect they may have been young coppers?
No matter .. they deserve a reprimand.
Still
i geuss it may be the way it is, wherever you are..?

It was a young cop - the other cop just sat in his car. There were two cop cars and two cops. The young one just yelled at me. He would not listen to me at all. He just kept saying stop lying to me. It would have been different if he had caught me in the act but no. Nothing! He said he had enough to arrest me - what did he have on me. I don't know. I guess he was just blowing smoke. He seemed like a loose cannon.

You sound? really unsettled by it all matey
I do think you should really consider demanding an apology, at the least
Speak to his Senior and follow it up with a letter, me thinks.
You would be teaching a young copper how to behave with members of the public huh?
