Actually, I think I've started about 3 or 4 different apology threads in the past. It isn't really hard to do if you really feel the need to apologize to someone publicly.

No, actually, the persons to whom I apologized accepted my apology, and we went on with our business. No extended name-calling into other threads and onto other websites. We were done. I'm actually friends with a couple of them now.

Hey, if I see that I was wrong, I own it. I can't imagine anyone doing otherwise. I'm a bit pragmatic that way. And those threads I mentioned are only the ones where I started a thread specifically for that purpose. There are even more instances where I've posted in a thread, "my apologies, I misunderstood you. Thank you for clearing that up."
