    Plan would pay Japanese families to have kids



    I hope they get this figured out so we can copy them. As we haven't exactly done a great job with providing enough affordable and quality daycare in the US.:frown1:

    There is or was a somewhat similar program in the province of Quebec, that gave a families a one-time payment for having children. Sorry, don't kmow the details. There's also a national program called the Canadian Child Tax Benefit(I don't have the figures handy, but they can be found at cra.gc.ca) that's paid on a sliding scale according to income, and a payment of $100 per month per child to help with daycare.
