This is about periods.... not private messaging...

I'm going to bitch about periods! They suck, that's the be all and end all to it! Who's flippin idea was it to make girl suffer through this crap. You know I'd much rather be banging my friend than sitting at home miserable... dying in pain...

Lets hear the bitching about this crappy sentence to us women!

    Where's my friggen chocolate!

Um, am I the only one who thought that this was the original thought behind this other thread http://www.lpsg.org/62147-pmsing.html, and now thought that this current thread was more rehashing of the other thread?

I'm so confused right now. :biggrin1:

I never thought of that, birth control is free here but if it's not too expensive it's a good option, it's in for three or five years (I can't remember which as I didn't take any notice of what they were saying) and if you worked out how much you'd spend on tampons in that time you'd probably end up saving money.

5 years... but it costs like... $300 here. I'll ask my mom... she'll tell me if it's covered...

Every woman (and man) has times when we couldnt be happier to see our period start, no matter how painful and uncomfortable it is. The other 99% of the time its gods fucked up humor punishing us for being female

I completely empathize with you T_K! I have had painful periods since my first one when I was like 12 or 13. Turns out I have endometriosis so every month I go through hell, and a significant amount of ibuprofen.

I read somewhere on the internet that calcium helps reduce cramps. When I remember I start doubling up on it about 3 days before my period and take it every day and it does seem to help a bit.

As for the PMS, it's a bitch, there have been times in past years where I have actually secluded myself. That's right I was so bitchy I annoyed myself and didn't want to inflict such nastiness on the innocent people around me.

I find the foods they say to avoid are the ones I crave the most when PMSing. The perfect PMS meal for me is chicken enchiladas, rice, refried beans and guacamole. Or Popeye's fried chicken wings, red beans & rice with one of those divinely, greasy biscuits. For dessert a chocolate cream pie. There has to be just the right mix of salt and chocolate to soothe and calm me.

But its thoes times that make me realize how happy i am to deal with 3 days of blood, pain, bloating and cramps when you compare that to the other outcome

I think normal is between 2 and 8 days, mine were always four days, I never had PMS or period pains, but I do have ovulation pain mid cycle.

I don't enjoy my periods by any means... my boobs hurt, I get bad cramps, I feel gross... but overall, I appreciate my periods... they let me know that I'm still alive and healthy and capable of having children.
