If you live in the affected areas, please stay safe, and stay warm.

It's crazy, it was a sunny, beautiful day here and there are people freezing to death a few hundred miles away.

My thoughts are with everyone in the area

The low in the Wash DC area was 8 degrees last night; feels like temp was near 0. It was cold. Just taking out the trash was an ordeal with all the bundling up. The wind didn't help. Supposed to be a low of 17 degrees tonight.

We're warming up in the near future. 46 on Saturday; 65 on Tuesday! Crazy.

That's very thoughtful of you.

Thank you

I just couldn't get it out of my head, watching the coverage on the storm after I got home from such a beautiful day I just felt like I wanted to do something but I can't.

I figure if it's not possible to physically warm anyone up right now I could at least warm up some hearts and minds with some positive thoughts :sun:

The world could use a few more people that care about others.

It's currently 19 degrees and snowing. High of 26 degrees forecast. Forecasters last night said 1-2 inches maybe. Oops, we've got close to that already, and now the weather folks are saying it may last longer into the day than first forecast. Oops!

I just got in from the gym. The snow had barely started when I left the house at 6:45 am; by 8:10 am, on my way home, the roads are now covered. Lots of slipping and sliding around already.

My 4th graders school is currently 2 hours late and they are trying to figure out if they should just close now for the day. School system West of us has closed. The school closure web site is humming with a lot of unhappy parents who want/need a decision.

Oh well. At least the snow is pretty!

We were hit with the Polar Virtex a couple of years ago. Holy guacamole, Batman - it was cold. Colder than Siberia, colder than Antarctica, colder than a witch’s tit on Mars.

Poor homeless people. They had it the worst, though. All the train stations allowed them to sleep inside and we brought in some blankets and coffee and food for them. At least where we could. I was dressed like the Michelin Man. Hope we never go through that again.

It's nice to hear people helping the less fortunate.

Most of them are homeless because of mental health problems and not enough services to go around. There are historical issues. But whatever, there are lots of people who try to be kind, especially when there’s a crisis in our city. Every little bit counts.
