I just took this one today I have done this in the past and it was about that level of on the left but more near the red/green level. It goes from being in the red and green depending on where we are in the world.
The Political Compass has a number of questions related to social policy and authority that are a bit perplexing. I've read a number of regulars of the quiz comment that these questions make it difficult to reasonably answer in the way that would indicate authoritarian tendencies, and so the quiz overall tilts a bit towards the libertarian side.
Several questions associate patriotism with authoritarianism. By no means though is that a natural association. There may be some correlation between authoritarianism and patriotism, but there's no logical connection, and one can easily be one and not the other. One could be a proponent of an authoritarian ideology that clashes with the state of one's own society, and therefore be limited in one's patriotism, or even be antagonistic towards what one's country currently represents. On the other hand, one could be a libertarian and be a staunch patriot precisely because one lives under a constitution that has strong protections of personal liberties.
But some questions are even worse. One question associates valuing of the arts with libertarianism. Again, even though authoritarians would obviously be more inclined to regulate standards of acceptable art, valuing art or not doesn't have any natural association with either side here.
And then there's that ridiculous question about astrology. Something to do with authoritarianism and determinism being connected.
The PC thinks I only lean slightly on the authoritarian side, but most other quizzes indicate a stronger tendency.
