Please post anything of interest that is happening in the rest of the world.

I think that Gordon B will survive the conference, but Labour won't survive the recession.

Anything happening where you are?

In Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, a man known as Mr. 10 % for his corrupt ways, is now the President of the country.

I hope GB survives the conference - I still think he has the potential to do good things for the UK, if only his own party will let him. As for Labour not surviving the recession, well - wouldn't that put the Tories back in? Wouldn't that be worse? I mean, are they competant enough anymore?

Anything happening where you are?
Main news here today is that the CAC 40 is tanking due to the you know what hitting the other you know what, you know where

Oh - and the European Central Bank has felt the need to shove €30bn into the economy, BoE's gone with £5bn in the UK on top of that...
(AFP: BoE pumps 5 bln into money markets after Lehman collapse)

It's a good move by the CBs and it's only overnight money to ensure short term supply hiccups.

Of course, the question is what the banks will be liquidating to repay it?

It's all rather complicated; no doubt the markets will react in the normal mature orderly manner. Like lemmings.

I thought it was a good time to go for a quiet drive.

He had Bhutto's brother killed and is a CROOKED, CROOKED man... he makes Musharraff seem like a boy scout.

Oh God... not the fucking Tories! Arrrgggh!!!!!

Canada's having snap elections soon.

Harper better get his ass kicked or the ex-patriots will have nowhere to move to in November.

I wonder how Mrs. Merkel is doing with all this mayhem going on?

What are the political ramifications in your country?

How affected are you by the credit bubble burst?

Will China and the Middle East end up owning everything?

Despite what some people have said about our prime minister i think our Ruddy is doing a bang up job.

He apolagised to our native people which showed the world Australia is compassionate enough to put its pride behind it and admit its wrong doing and it also brings us one step closer to reconciliation which makes for a more stable nation.

He signed the Kyoto agreement and whether or not you think its useful or not its a symbol of our nations commitment to providing a better world for future generations so he has increased our world standing by doing so.

Many people criticised his alcho-pops tax (for those that dontknow what alcho-pops are they are pre-mixed drinks like soda-pop) and while his reasoning on the tax may have been flawwed it is never a bad thing to tax alchohol.... alchohol is a luxurie that unfortunatly cuases a great deal of expense to the australian public through drink driving and other alchohol related problems and by taxing the alcho-pops he's putting money back into the country from something that takes alot of money out of australia.

For all you whingers ask yourself which is more important to you...... Alchohol......or your future.

Oh yeah plus he's strengthened ties with China due to his ability to speak fluent Mandaring...the chinese people now love australia and can't get enough of our product putting us in a prim position to capitolise on the next economic superpower.

(in saying this i'd like to add that while i dont neccesarily like the chinese government becuase of the high rate of human rights abuse they inflict on thier people and the people of bordering tibet theres also a chance that Ruddy might have some small posative influence on the chinese governemnt there as well.)

And thats whats happening here

Oh yeah plus he's backed by the greens and has made a promise to look into gay rights issues.

Ruddy for the future!! HOORAY!
