All of my grandparents emigrated to the US from Italy. My parents were born and raised in the US and both had older siblings who were born in Italy but emigrated with their parents.

I was born in the US and am uncircumcised. I have many brothers, both older and younger; I have no idea what their status is.

I chose White/Euro because my DNA is 98+% Italian. :)

Yeah. What's the difference between WhiteEuro and WhiteAmerican? Is it meaningful that my ethnic English ancestors shat all over and slaughtered my ethnic Irish ancestors? And that they hated the Redcoats back? :joy:

I don't think the options are wholly coherent, but here's the best sense I made of that distinction:

There are pretty substantial cultural differences between European-descended peoples of the "Old World" versus of the "New World". I think the distinction is particularly relevant for this thread, because circumcision seems to be considerably more common in North America than in Europe.

I answered "White American", taking the first term to refer to my race/ancestry, and the latter, my native land.

I was jk. I understand it's a survey about who's cut and who isn't.

Well, I guess by trying to make this specific I ended up omitting some key options. Oops. I'd say Canadian definitely goes along with white American, culturally and regionally it's essentially the same place *relatively* speaking. Australian/NZ is a weird one and so is SA. I'd guess SA whites can fall under Euro.

It would be nice to do the same poll, I refer specifically to how it is structured, among the uncircumcised about the length of their foreskin. It would be interesting to see how and to what extent the degree of coverage of the glans (with flaccid penis) can change in relation to ethnicity or birth area...

I'd disagree. I'm canadian and dating an american. And have lived in both countries. There are a LOT of differences once you scratch beyond the superficially similar surface. Also circumcision is much less common in canada .

Are they not just asking about the culture that you grew up in. Im pretty sure they are not digging into your ancient ancestory.

American culture seems to prefer circumcision. European culture seems to think circumcision is unnecessary.

I'm from South Africa and culturally white South Africans are very divided the English speaking white people are usually considered sort of British, but they are not. The Dutch/Afrikaans (Boers) speaking white people might be historically connected to the European Dutch, French and German. The Afrikaans white people are usually uncut, it's not in their culture to circumcise. The white English speaking men have a mixed amount of circumcision vs not cut. I don't know why this is. But considering either subsection as White European, mistake. We are white Africans and when we move to Europe we find that culturally we are not really European or British.
