It seems to me a reasonable role for any government to recognize and protect ANY domestic partnership that the parties involved wish to declare and have recognized.
I guess it depends on whether you believe the Government should have a role in our lives regarding marriage. I don't believe the Government should play such a role, thus get their asses back to doing what the framework of what our Declaration describes them to do.
Personally I oppose ALL legislation regarding marriage, so the poll is actually a bit loaded. Marriage is a sacred trust between you, your partner and the church(whichever you go to[if]). When the Gov'ment gets involved, it becomes a tax and control.
