Porn actor arrested in WSU rape investigation

A pornographic-video actor wanted in connection with a rape and burglaries at Washington State University sororities last week turned himself in to Pullman police today.
Christopher Jack Reid, 25, and his Spokane attorney met police at a Pullman motel parking lot. Reid was taken into custody and is being held in Whitman County jail in Colfax in lieu of $200,000 bail.
Police said Reid, who has appeared in dozens of sex videos under the name "Jack Venice," made no statements.
Reid is charged with burglary and rape, both felonies, in incidents early Thursday morning.
According to Pullman police Sgt. Dan Dornes, Reid and another man first tried to break into a fraternity on campus but were confronted by residents and left.
They then broke into three sororities, Dornes said. A woman at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house told police she woke up early Thursday to find two men in the room. She said they raped her before fleeing down a fire escape.
While Reid lists Texas as his home, he is last known to have lived in the Los Angeles area.
The second man, a 23-year-old student at the university, was arrested Friday and released Monday after posting a $100,000 bond. Police say he is being cooperative.
Dornes said the burglaries and the rape all happened within an hour.
He said that rapes by strangers are less common in Pullman than rapes by acquaintances.
"Where someone is attacked by an unknown intruder is relatively rare," Dornes said.
Dornes said he doesn't know why Reid was in Pullman, although there has been speculation that he was recruiting for porn films. He said the two men met at a bar and that the student didn't even know Reid's last name.
Police said there is no evidence that Reid had been in Pullman before, and Dornes said he hadn't heard from any other colleges reporting suspicious activity linked to Reid.
A limousine driver, who asked not to be identified, said he drove Reid around Seattle two weeks ago with several other people involved with his entertainment company.
"He was just checking the city out with other actors," the driver said.
According to The Internet Movie Database (IMDb), the Internet Movie Database, "Jack Venice" has appeared in 86 hard-core sex films. One is titled "Sorority Sex Kittens: Kappa Kappa Sex."
