I never cease to be amazed at people. There are those who have given good adivice and those who have basically told a 19-year-old, one year over legal majority and in fact encouraged this individual to make decisions that could have a horrific negative impact on his future.
I am myself a gay man. I grew up less than 20 miles from the porn capitol of the world which is or was Hollywood California. Through a number of odd coincidences I had the pleasure of meeting many from this industry and knowing a few of them well.
I want to point out that most of those people are dead now. They died of complications from HIV.
On a porn set there is no way to 100% know that those with whom you are engaged in sex are clean of any illness. Infected with and dead of complications from HIV are Thom Katt (again not the bodybuilder), Scott Taylor, Scott O'Hara, Melchor Diaz, Lance, Lee Ryder, Rick Donovan, and more others than I would care to count.
When I was in College I worked for a transit bus company servicing buses as they returned to the yard, I worked writing medical papers, I worked as an intern at a radio station, I pumped gas, and I survived to get an education.
Many years ago there was a gay porn studio called Colt. I must not have been too bad because I dated several fellows that were models for Colt. My main exposure to this life was in the 1980's which was nearly 7 years after College for me.
What is your education worth if you were to on a whim take chances that jeopardized your health. What is everything you've done to this point worth if you confine your future to an industry which gives you a very short life in front of a camera. At the same time that short life of only a few years has the potential to label you and stigmatize you in such a negative manner as to literally stop about 60% of your future. Depending on the school appearing in porn can even have the potential to end your education. Some private colleges are not keen on porn stars because of contributions and influences from conservative alumnus.
If you feel you want to act in front of a camera change schools and get to Lee Strasbergs or one of the schools teaching acting that can get you somewhere. The problem is that you're looking for an "easy way out" and it can cost you more dearly than you could begin to imagine.
The worst part of it is that if things do blow up in your face, many avenues and people to whom you could have turned would not help or consider your choice favorably. You are way too young to go there yet. Get your education behind you and if you still feel this way, at least get the education first. Unlike you I came from a wealthy family, but my young friend in order to appreciate the education I received I still had to work for it. My Stepfather was a Beverly Hills/Los Angeles Surgeon. He was one of 11 children raised on a farm in rural North Dakota. You are complaining about work to gain the most valuable asset of your life. You already have one of the most valuable gifts imaginable. You were one of the lucky ones accepted to attend a University and have survived this far. There are many your age who would kill to be in your position just to get the education. The money definitely is not worth it. I can guarantee that. I can also tell you that the highest paying studios are those doing gay bareback sex. Do some very heavy investigation BEFORE you say yes in any manner. Find out everythinig before you go not after you get there.
