Porn stars

Why are porn stars considered celebrities when their naked status is their only reason for notoriety? Shouldn't there be a separate category for Porn Stars and Celebrities? I would think a celebrity is someone whose claim to fame is not making a living off of performing sex acts, whereas a porn star makes a living thusly, and therefore there is no mystery or intrigue about their nakedness/equipment. Let's hear it for the non-porn star celebrities willing and/or caught and/or outed showing us the goods!

Besides that, what's up with the term porn 'stars'? The correct term should be porn 'actors', since most of them are just 'actors', (and I do use that term loosely,) and NOT 'stars'. We don't call all 'actors' in Hollywood 'stars', so why do we in porn?
