We did go to counseling AFTER she went into a two year depression. It was getting to the point to where if we didn't go, I was going to leave her. I didn't know how to deal with it, didn't know what she was going through and didn't know what to do to help her get better. I sat her down one evening and told her I thought counseling was a positive option otherwise I couldn't do anything to help her and couldn't see sitting around watching her live like that. She and I went to counseling and it helped pull her out of her depression. That was almost 10 years ago. The last miscarriage she had that almost killed her was in 2011. She didn't go into a depression like she did with the first one however it DID affect her. As of today, she has not mentioned a baby in over a couple of weeks now so maybe she has come to the realization that it isn't the smartest decision to attempt another.
