Men, please remember Prostate issues can develop as early as 45 years of age, do not ignore. If your Physician says your Prostate has enlarged then you need to get a Urologist and keep an eye on it. Once your score gets 8 -19 moderately symptomatic. Prostate issues are a serious condition and need to be treated at early stages. At early stages they can be treated with less invasive procedures than when it gets to the upper half of that spectrum.

I can really take the test above and it be a fair reading as my Physician has me on Flowmax a medication to help with urine flow.

Score 22. 66 years old. In very early stage 1 Prostate cancer. Found out I had PC in Jan 2018. Had another biopsy in Feb 2020 still in very early stage 1. Doing the wait-and-watch.

They did a Prostate biopsy on me in January 2019. It will be the last one they do on me. Very archaic procedure IMHO. The cost was outrageous even if Medicare does pay for it.

What was the reason the Urologist wanted to do a Prostate Biopsy in 2018?

I even notice differences from the archaic biopsy they did on me in January 2020. I can't hold my erections as long as before the procedure. I use to hold my erections sometimes over 1.5 hours and for my advanced age I was really happy with it. The erections were much more erect than now. I use to get morning wood 2 to 4 times a week but the 1 or so I get now is week. This has pissed me off so much I decided to stop seeing the Urologist and find another Urologist, which i will decide on when the weather turns cooler here. I am thinking of even finding one in a city that has a few Urologists that use more modern procedures for prostate issues. I got some time yet. I did not even go back to that Urologist for the results of the biopsy he did in January 2020. I called and canceled the appointment and never made another appointment.

What kind of procedure what done with the robotic surgery? The Physician don't offer any medication to help with the erectile dysfunction? How bad is the erectile dysfunction?

Sorry to hear!! I am similar to what I was before as far as size which is nothing more than average.

My Primary Care Physician tried to talk me out of the whole thing as I was only having the issue with going to take a urine break every 2 - 3 hours 24-7. She had prescribed flowmax generic to get it to that level as it was more often. I just wanted to get myself off the flowmax generic and decided to see the Urologist. I screwed myself I guess we are sometimes our own worst enemy.

Yeah always remember the American health system is a money making business

After medical school urology is a very very competitive field, why? Is it because everyone wants to look at old mans gizmos or stick a finger in a middle aged butt

no it’s hard to get into cause ...it’s a money maker

Talk to a roofer....they will recommend a new roof

mechanic....new breaks and new alternator

shoe salesman ...he tell you how your worn heals are killing your posture

Doctors are people ... not saints, and urologist recommend biopsy’s , Surgeries , and follow up appointments

Yes, I know but I talk with others and also my Primary Care Physician who is very helpful to me at the VA. My wife does not go to the VA as she has heard to much wrong with the VA. As of the last 5 or so years VA has been very different than what my wife heard several years ago. It does seem to be getting better as time goes and I can use Physicians outside the VA system if I so choose. VA will send you outside their system for many things. I can even choose those outside their system that I want. I even use the VA for the medication which is as good as any others I have used in the past except Walmart Pharmacy. I don't really know what Pharmacy VA contracts but I am sure it is contracted. Thank you for the reply.

I did talk to my Primary Care Physician at the beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2020 and told her where my prostate was according to the Urologist and what I had decided about not allowing the Urologist preform the TURP on my Prostate and may just getting a second opinion. I did also tell her that he had done that Prostate Biopsy on January 19, 2020 and I never returned to the Urologist for the results. I told here if she wanted the results she knew how to obtain them as she did have all the paperwork already in my record. She ask me if I had got any phone calls from anyone at the Urologist which I have not. She told me that if no phone calls then there was no results of cancer positive. If it would have come back positive a Physician will get you in his office or call you himself to notify their patient. It is their duty.
