Interesting observation thought I would share. I took my blood pressure a week ago and it was about 140/88. Didn’t like that. Did some research and decided to try to reduce alcohol and take potassium.

Cut alcohol back from 5 to 6 beer/ wine per day to 2 or max 3.

Take potassium supplement with each meal and increase foods that are higher in potassium.

Cut back on sodium.

After only about 3 or 4 days, I noticed increase in erections during sleep time (waking up during night noticing this). Weightlifting has been easier , possibly due to dilated blood vessels. Blood pressure now like 125/80ish.

Wanted to share and also see if anyone else has had similar experience.

Thanks!

Why not just eliminate alcohol altogether?
Alcohol is a toxin, and interferes with a myriad of bodily functions, and has an effect of reducing testosterone.
As much as I enjoy a good whiskey or a craft beer, in order for me to maintain my health I've had to stop imbibing.

I know that drinking can flush potassium from the body to dangerously low levels, but it's hard to get naturally in sufficient amounts. And sodium is so hard to avoid in modern diets.

Sounds like you done good, man!
Thanks much!

Looking to cut back to only a few each week. Going for “enjoy in moderation “.

Be careful with the potassium supplement. Excess potassium can affect heart rhythm. In fact the drug cocktail used for capital punishment in some US jurisdictions uses a mass dose of potassium to stop the heart.

(As with all things medical, only take medical advice from your medical practitioners who have passed medical training and know your case.)

Be safe.

Thanks for the heads-up! I take 2 of the supplements, which is actually less than the amount of potassium in one cup of milk. Honestly, makes me wonder why to bother with the supplement, but I like it for meals when I don’t drink milk. Actually trying to increase intake of potassium naturally with food and beverages.
