Prague! What's to know?

Right then i'm off for a guys weekend in Prague and was wondering if anyone has some tips for some places to have a good night out, some cheap beer and some fun?

Don't worry i'm aware of the rip off taxi services and have got that covered, with the iPhone all GPS'ed up i should be able to navigate the city well..

Suggestions please

Awesome city, one of my favorites.

Its been five years since I have been there, so the places I visited for "a good night out, some cheap beer and some fun" have probably all changed. I can do no better than to suggest the Time Out guide on Prague, which guided me well in terms of restaurants and bars.

Its a small city, so you should walk it as much as possible. You can also take the trams, which are pretty easy (just look at the numbers on the upper front and buy tickets on the tram). I never took a taxi and took the subway once. Everything else was on tram, which I liked very much.

Good food, friendly people (remember to say "Dobry Den": Good Day, and Dobry Vee-cheer: Good Evening-phonetically) and you will have a great time. I'm jealous.

was there feb 2008...had a great time...i would not drink and drive there...discovered a lot of dance clubs on 2nd floor of buildings...lots of porno being filmed there...great food and fun...lots of young people on the streets at night...some gang types but that is common in eastern europe...fine pilsner beer...damn wish i was there...use the subway..take plenty of money

I've heard from several people who have been all over Europe that Prague was their favorite city! And supposedly Czech beer is really good, so you gotta try that! :smile:

Nice city to visit. I was there many years ago, but not in the last few years.
