A buddy of mine applied up for a DATA ENTRY job and a major US bank...(one that received TARP fund btw :mad:) and went in for his pre-employment physical today. In addition to the finger print (CHRC) test and urine test...they took HAIR off 6 body locations and he has to submit a STOOL sample by this time tomorrow!???

The job description is not anything out of the norm. Is this the private sector raising the bar again?? Thoughts??? Mine are...outside of the military and/or related industries....WTF?????? :confused:

BRHAHA...some of the puns...but seriously! lets talk shit....my buddy is ex USMC and did 2 rotations in Iraq and 3 in Afghan....i mean, that the HELL?? He says his is not a NASMAC clearance position too..so not like hes working for Haliburton or (former) Blackwater....we were laughing about how he has to poop for work...but still...seems pretty indignant.
 
I had to go google it because it was so wierd. Why would they want THAT? Then I found this:

The only kind of test that should be relevant is a criminal record check.

What the hell does a bank want with employees hair?

I would be tempted to have a huge meal of lard, just to show them what i thought of that. Which would be particularly interesting given my recent gallbladder removal.

This was for a DATA ENTRY job? That's crazy. Imagine being the person who has to inform people about needing a stool sample. That would generate some interesting looks and smells.

I think it is a joke still. The drug specifically they must be testing is cannabis. That is the only drug i've ever heard of that leaves trace amounts in hair.

I wonder if they carry out breath tests?

If not, it seems like they are taking a moral highgound. In a sense they are being prejudiced.

I agree! i mean.,,,really??? The reason why I bring this up is...is the this new negative selection' in the few decent jobs coming up in our generation? This leads to genetic 'health' markers and then.....well....aint gonna be pretty.

Imagine this: we both did University in different nations/continents but your markers from lowers inst. fecal matter indicate your cancer/early death markers are high risk...so sorry.. Is this what globalization is all about????:mad:
 
I hear about people having to take drug tests for work, but I have NEVER had a job that required me to take a drug test ever. Drugs tests are a total joke anyway...you better not eat a poppy seed bagel at Starbucks before you take the test because it will show that you are a heroin addict.

I think if some company told me they wanted body hair samples and a shit sample I would tell them "TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT!"

You can already buy packets of fake urine just in case you get selected for a random drug test monday morning after a weekend of being stoned. What next fake shit? LOL

the applicant can always withdraw him/herself from consideration for any job. why consider employment with a company whose policies you disagree with?

as for drug usage, a user can be considered a job risk for instability or behavioral problems as well as stealing money or property to buy drugs.

If in their benefit package offering Health and Life Insurance, The carrier may actually require a stool sample.

So what are they going to do if they suspect he has some kind of medical problem like UC, CD, or colon cancer as a result of the stool test? Are they going to Deny him employment? That is illegal! :eek:

I am currenly suing my former employer for firing me two days after I returned from taking a week of medical leave due to a hospitalization for some chronic medical issues. I had previously been out on long term disability for 6 months prior due to surgery. I am going to WIN my lawsuit too because they were well aware of my condition and targeted me for termination anyway and tried to use the recession as an excuse even though they had just gotten $500M in new business. Based on the amount of cash my attorney is going to take from them I won't be working again any time soon...if ever! :tongue:

Honestly my first thought after my boss fired me was "I JUST HIT THE JACKPOT!" :biggrin1:

I thought LSD was detectable in hair, at least that was the rumour when I was young.
