Did anyone else notice that there were Tree Shadows in the back of President Bush? The speech seemed to have occured in the Map Room or maybe the Library (which is at ground level). I wanted to know what people's opinions were about this. This looked like this was taped maybe around Sunset. It was pretty dark last time i checked around 8pm CST.
Makes perfect sense when you think about it. They Probly taped it early, cuz they needed the extra time to edit out all his screw ups in pronunciation. :biggrin1:
The White House is located in Washington, DC which is EST. So they are an hour ahead of you. Television lighting is really, really bright. Bright lights often cause shadows. Err, umm...let me get this straight. The only thing that bothered you about the President's speech tonight, was the appearance of tree shadows which could mean a pre-taped commentary or background? Uh huh, okay. Just checking.
The speech was at 9 PM Eastern, right? It's friggin' dark here now, and has been since a little after 5 (sunset was right near 5 PM). I don't recall, though, if such speeches are actually supposed to be live. Knowing him, the one that got broadcast is probably the ninth or tenth "take".
We still had to suffer hearing about the threat of Iran's nook-ya-ler program. He doesn't do doing much for yale's reputation. He's the biggest threat to democracy. (I heard it on the radio, and it was broadcast at 5pm here)
I loved the rationalization about how our continued presence in Iraq is providing stability in the overall region (re: Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia)...and that we must strengthen our position to prevent imminent destabilization. Can't we fire this fuckwit and his minions already?
