I'm taking prednisone for a herniated disc.

Not suffering any ill side effects, but since it started I've a lot more...not 'virility,' as my wife put it.

No, it's a lot more 'forward motion.' I'm getting a whole lot done around the house and at work. It's like energy, like I drank a whole pot of coffee, but without the jitters.

Is it the prednisone? Anyone else experience this?

Maybe I should ask the doc to start giving me a regular prescription for something like this.

I had the exact same reaction to it. I was home with a lung problem - I ended up doing a DYI project on my bedroom ...

Prednisone will definitley cause osteoporosis. My mum was prescribed it for a lung condition (alveolitis) and at a time with the little known side effects. It caused her so much pain in the latter days of her life. She ended up having to take othe medication to offset the side effects of it, then other medication to offset that.

Pain from fracturing ribs coughing with the lung disease and becoming very frail and stooped. Your body, your life.

I was on that in 1996,within one week my joints started acheing, and my back broke out in pimples alot, after the third week I told the doctor to take me off it or I would take myself off it. I felt very sluggish on it.

causes serious and dangerous side effects if taken long term. medical descriptions seem to think long term begins at three weeks. Bodies recovery time seems to be roughly the same as the time you have been taking it, but irreversible effects at around 1 year. which does not mean you should not take it, but be quite sure it is needed.
