Went to Steamworks in Toronto last night. Place was packed. There was bareback anal nonstop anal by many people. Spontaneous group of at least 20 people in the Video lounge at one point. People in Canada can get prep for free. Seems like they have all taken advantage of it. A huge change has taken place.

Having come out during the AIDS crisis I can say I never thought I would see the day when 2 men could have natural sex (i.e. without latex). Today I love to watch guys who have come out as poz be able to enjoy natural sex again. While I understand PrEP is not a guarantee, it's wonderful to watch someone like Rocco Steele be able to once again inseminate his partner with that gorgeous thick cock of his, although a lot of the time he pulls out. There are guys that still use condoms (like the people that are still wearing masks) and are only comfortable doing so, and that's their choice. The point being PrEP has given men a choice.

It’s been that way in the London sex clubs and saunas for at least 5 years. The vast majority now go bareback. Wanting to use a condom can often get you a ‘no thanks, so things have flipped from the ‘safer sex‘ days’. It’s all good and personal choice.

To each his own. I think if you keep up with your meds for prep you should feel free to have the fun you seek without feeling judgement…
However I think alot of people ignore the other stds out there that prep does not protect against. I’ve heard syphiliis in particular is on the rise.

It's a blessing and a curse. I would rather a vaccine for HIV instead of gay men being chained for the rest of their life to a medication earning big bucks to big pharma.

Essentially there is little motivation for a vaccine when you have money rolling in on drugs people have to take forever.

I don’t have group sex anymore, but I’m glad that I had a couple of years of uninhibited sex party and sauna attendance on PrEP before I married my husband. It was incredibly cathartic to fuck and be fucked by a room full of guys bareback. I came of age in the late 80s-early 90s, and always assumed I’d never be able to do that.

I understand that it’s risky and not for everyone, but if you have an overwhelming primal desire for male connection and bonding like I do, there’s nothing like flipping bareback with a room full of hot guys.

Not just BB, I've seen guys that swallowed cum from sucking one guy after another in a group sex. It's always my preference to shoot my loads into the cocksucker's mouth. So, Prep is beneficial for both parties involved.

Years ago, when I noticed this, I'd thought the guy was so brave in doing that. I found out about Prep and its benefits 2 years on this website.

I've read somewhere that you can also start Prep after you've had "risky" sex the night before. Not sure if that's true.

PEP or post exposure prophylaxis can be taken after you believe you may have been in a situation that put you at risk for contacting HIV. It must be started within 72 hours of exposure and typically you take a full course for 28 days. Typically this is not the same drug as PreP but a combination of different HIV related medication. There is also whats called PrEP on-demand. This is for those that may be infrequently potentially exposed to HIV and don't want to do PReP but still want some added protection. In this case you take 2 pills up to 24 hours before you are going to have sex, another 24 hours after sex and a fourth 48 hours after sex. Only certain PreP drugs have been tested for this purpose so don't assume every drug can be used interchangeably. Those taking PrEP need to ensure they take it daily and around the same time to ensure adequate level of the drug in your system.

But like someone else mentioned this does nothing for the STI's such as Syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, chlamydia, etc. which are prevalent in the community. Get tested often if having frequent sex with multiple partners, know the risk and your tolerance for it as well as respect for not transmitting to others.

And because of antibiotic resistance, the future could be gay (and other) men/women afflicted by untreatable STIs.

Likely one reason there are concerns regarding the recent study/use of antibiotics as a PEP for STI's is because of this antibiotic resistance potential and what is being observed here is scary.
