What in your estimation are rip offs? Things that are not worth what you end up paying for them.

    Here are my top 4...

    1. Ticketmaster service charges - I recently bought concert tickets for about 40 bucks and there was a $12 service charge Ticket master tacked on. Where do they get off on charging over 25% for selling tickets?

    2. Autobody/Repair Shop fees- I paid $800 bucks to get a bumper replaced- just under the $1000 deductible from my insurance so all out of my pocket. The fucking bumper they got from a junk yard which cost them about 20 bucks to pull off from some wreck.

    3. Any hospital stay - NOTHING is worth $3000 for an overnight stay. I don't care how sick you are. Can you imagine spending $90,000 for a month's stay at a hospital? Basically if you don't have health insurance you're financial life is toast.

I'm the world's biggest jew and I think I'm overcharged for everything.

Is there really a reason deli's should charge 1.75 for coffee AND I have to make it myself? Mrs. Korean McFly....I'm not doing that!

I feel ripped off by almost the price of everything here in NYC. A plain roll is now a dollar?! C'mon. Rip-offs!
On a diff topic does a root canal REALLY need to be 600$ a pop? C'mon...

There's a website that actually tells you how to save on hospital stays. They'll charge you like 8.00 for a Tylenol but you can bring your own you can save alot by talking to your doctor and finding out what you're gonna need, A hosp bill can be hard to decipher esp the way the label things. They sometimes even charge you like 7.00 for your glass. you can bring your own and over a weeks stay all these little things you can bring or a friend can bring to you will save you quite alot.

I was gonna say I hope to G-D that your are a Jew, but then I thought, it's even worse if you are one, and are using a derogatory slur against yourself!!! Where do people get off insulting others like that? As a Jew I am highly offended and ashamed for you! Just call yourself what you really are, a cheapskate, and stop hiding behind labels!!! Would it be any different if I used the word faggot or nigger in a slur just because everybody else uses it? People make me sick! Give people their respect and you might get some in return...

OK let's not hijack this thread. I used it b/c I'm used to using it as a joke w/other NY jews. I guess we use it to reclaim the insult and make fun of it. None of us are self hating.

BACK TO THE PROGRAM NOW PLEASE.

DAMN, you beat me to it! Why complain about paying $3-4 for a gallon of milk, when, on average, one would pay $1.79 for 16.9oz for water (which would equal about $13.56 per gallon)? :wtf1:

I've heard other Jews say things like that just as I've heard black people refer to each other as, nigger, and Italians use, guinea, or, WOP. I even refer to my cheapness as being due to my Dutch or Scots ancestry.

New Yorkers are pretty used to comments like this. I think we're just less PC than some other places.

90,000 mile check-up at the Honda dealership - over $500. This was with a 10% coupon, and minus the tire rotation that I get done elsewhere. They said I would need new front disc brakes by the next oil change but another place said they were only half worn.

    - Ink Jet print cartridges....hell, the printer cost less than buying 3 of these things. They are made to run out fast and be replaced often.

    - Anything at Crate & Barrel, especially when you can buy the same shit at IKEA for half or even less.
