The first item on my agenda is for Biden to become the elder statesman (that has not retired) to really emerge and win the support of the vast majority of people in the US.
My second item is that I am hoping for a science-based and people-based plan to handle COVID for both the short-term and the long-term with the necessary funds to do it.
My third item is to develop a stimulus for economic recovery from COVID and from neglect for the last four years to help middle-class America.
This needs to include a check for $1200 an adult with money for children to be given out as soon as possible.
True small businesses need some help getting back on their feet.
My fourth item is we need a federal program like Roosevelt had in the 1930s for young unemployed people who built wonderful projects throughout the US. There are many projects that these young people could build, redo, etc that would be beneficial to the economy and help young adults have a job. Some job training could be added as well as allowing some courses that can be taken on-line that help young adults get a good start on life as an adult.
My fifth item is health care. We need to adopt as a national goal that health care is a right for all residents of the US, immigrants included. People whose income is twice the poverty level should get health insurance free paid for by taxes.
There should be a graduating scale so that those making four times the poverty level papy full price with minimum copays of $10 for first doctors office visit each month and all other office visits approved by that doctor being paid for with tax revenues.
All the above neds to come under the direction of Medicare.
Medicare should be dropped to age 60 for two years and then to age 55. I am suggesting the two installments so that there won't be as many new medicare patients to enroll in any one year. The major medical part, 20 %, needs to be changed to only 10 %. Instead of decuctables, a $10 copay for dr visits with a cap of $50 per month where Medicare picks up the rest. The Medicare Advantagfe plans would remain in force except to reflect the changes I have mentioned above.
There should be a bare bones policy for people above the four times the poverty level offered by the government for anyone between adulthood to age 55 can enroll. This should also be under the direction of Medicare.
All the popular provisions in ObamaCare should remain in place.
My sixth item is we need massive financial input to rebuild the nation's infrastructure. The tax cut of 2017 for those making $400,000 a year or more needs to be repealed to pay for this.
The corporation tax pre-2017 was higher here in the US than the corporation tax in most of Europe. Perhaps it needs to be adjusted to be competitive with Europe.
My seventh item is we need an Interstate rail system similar to the one we have for vehicles. There should be traffic both ways, not like many trains who are now one way only with trains having to wait their turn to use the railways.
Overpasses and tunnels should be used so there are no crossings where car and truck traffic and a fast train collide.
This system needs to use electric power and all the units using the rails would go at the same speed perhaps 200 miles per hour in straight stretches. Ramps leading onto the main track would get newcomers up to speed before needing to merge. Merging would be done by operators who use cameras to control each vehicle.
Large trucks and passenger vehicles could be loaded on large cars on these trains. There would be a car for people to travel with food, toilets, etc provided. Some intercontinental trains could have sleeping quarters people could pay to use. There would be a fee to store vehicles in the large cars and a fee per passenger to ride in the passenger cars.
This could reduce the need for air traffic and would be much more energy-efficient, Although they wouldn't provide very much of the electrical power needed, sonar panels could be built into the system to help at least some with energy costs.
The US needs to set the standard for this type of transportation. Consider, a family could store their vehicle in the storage car while traveling in the passenger car to a place 600 miles away. That would be three hours away. Traveling by car could be ten hours away not counting stops along the way if averaging 60 mph, not counting any neccessary stops along the way.
Some intercontinental trains might go from Atlantic to Pacific without making any stops. Compare that to air traffic with all the stop overs and waiting for a connection.
My eighth item which Biden has already promised is we need electric charging stations along with other electric technologies emerging could add thousands of new jobs.
There is no danger that the fossil fuel industry will be harmed by the use of more electricity any time soon. It would take at least ten years and most likely 20 years to fully implement the items concerning more electrical use that I have mentioned to be fully implemented.
At this point in time, our ships will still either use nuclear or fossil fuels. We may not need any new oil or gas wells, but we will need oil and gas for a while even if we speed the electrical proposals to the fastest lane.
Somehow, someway all the above suggestions should be implemented with the idea of promoting job possibilities equally, not on the basis of color, ethnicity, sexual preference or disability or any other social norm.
Biden included disability in his speech to America. CNN commenters pointed out that the disability organizations were pleased at Biden included them.
I believe Biden will promote new business in this way. Look at his record as a Senator. Consider that he agreed to be the vice president to a man of color. Biden then chose a woman of color to be his vice president. Biden came from a blue collar family. Biden has never forgotten his roots.
Past actions and words speak loudly as to the future. In Biden's case, that should speak well for the Biden presidency.
