So from discussions like the (curvy / fat) one there appears to be a clear preference for a 'bigger' female form ie 'skinny minny' is NOT 'in'. a "real" woman busts or spills respectively out of her clothes, I gather?*scarfs another cake*. As men don't face the same kind of scrutiny & judgement from women, I wonder how much pressure do men feel to be 'bigger', musclier, 'rockstar skinny' or anything else? & why?

I'm particularly fond of females that weigh less than I do. Take that how you will.

I've attempted to bulk up simply because I'm not entirely pleased with how skinny my arms are, but I've never felt bad about it. Maybe I fall into the rockstar skinny category, though, and don't have to worry about striving for the other end of the spectrum.

Are you kidding us?!

Women don't do anyting but judge and scrutinize men's biceps, shoulders, abs, back, legs, cock, hair etc. (you get the point). And also the height and income.
I'm in my early 20's and women around my age (both younger, older and the same age) are extremely shallow. There is a huge pressure from women and the media have also increased the pressure on men to look good.

Fuck pressure. If someone is weak enough to bend to someone's will, then they will forever be a pussy.

Do not live to impress others. Firstly impress yourself.

Alright, to answer the question. Men don't give a shit what men are like, unless they're gay. Yes, we're competitive, but sensible (no metrosexuals) guys like to look good, but not too great. As long as it works. Otherwise, we're out to impress someone else...

No pressure from women or other men. I like to be fit and as buff as possible. I'm coming off an illness right now where I lost 25 lbs of muscle in the past year and working hard to get strong enough to rebuild. Not trying to impress my lady who loves and accepts me the way I am, or other women, though I do enjoy their appreciative glances and comments, nor other men although when I get hit on in the locker room, part of me gets angry and part flattered. I think the motivation is to be healthy and looking great naked.

well marcus, I'd say they're more tolerant, more general and less contradictory, they might prefer "an athletic guy" or one with a bit "more to love" but it's not really like 'pecs have to be this big, shoulders this wide with a belly this flat, butt this size etc.
& men aren't objectified at every turn, the male body isn't exploited/used everywhere to sell everything etc.

Before you start pounding down the cakes, why don't you supply us with some pictures so we can make educated verdicts? =D

One bodyshape can't be all things to all people (i'm the exception that proves the rule:$).

Balls to what other people think. If you look in the mirror and don't like what you see, put a sledge hammer through the fucker, and stop buying mirrors

irish if it helps, once when asked if she'd take a skinny man, a very wise experienced woman (mi mama) answered "sure, if he had a big dick". inspiring philosophy huh?

first, men do bear that scrutiny from women and secondly, women feel a lot more pressure to look how other women think they should then what men thing
