Pretentious, Obnoxious names.

It's not pretentious it's vulgar, but I was reading a newspaper article which was about unusual names people in the UK had given to their children, and there are two boys who were given the name Superman, the poor little buggers, and I personally knew someone who had given their child the name Rocky. On the few occasions Rocky came out with us if I had to shout to him I referred to him as 'hey you'.

I heard once on the radio that somone named their child Mork (like Mork and Mindy)
Rocky is not so strange to me. I've heard it before, but as a nickname.
the oddest urban legend name I heard is male' and female'. with the accent over the e (pronounced mall-eh and feh-mall-eh)

It is pretty pretentious though. I knew one but I won't say it here, a guy I went to school with. He had a "high society" sounding name too.
Of course celebrity names, you gotta love Moon Unit and Dweezil Zappa, and also another of my "favorites", Pilot Inspektor (yes, that spelling with a "k" in "Inspektor" is correct in this case). I figure that celebrity and celebrity kids' names are fair game here since they're "in the public eye".

Oh, these are great! I read most of that site - good stuff... I thought I was the only person who "collected" unusual names! (and I have one myself, too - and I love it! :smile: )
Anyone who would name their kid Vagina is one truly messed up individual.
There was a story on the AOL Welcome page just the other day about a couple being denied naming their kid a certain bizarre name. I never read the full story, so I don't what it was, but I can't imagine it being any worse than Vagina!
