The poll, the subject heading, and your initial post ask three very different questions as they are all worded very differently.

I prefer natural tits, and I don't like too much makeup. I like girls with a unique sense of style, sometimes this means "dressing like a dude," too. I don't think average means ugly or not-so-pretty, you were using all three terms interchangeably.

Ultimately, really depends on the girl.

By "average" and "not-so-pretty" I really do mean ugly. Some women like to call themselves "plain janes" or "the girl next door" to make themselves feel better about not being hot, except sometimes these women just call themselves average to avoid being singled out as less than average. The girl next door is cute and usually fuckable, and there are plenty of ugly girls out there who would kill to just be average.

I'm very pale and without a little make up I look like I've been dead for three weeks, but when men say they hate a shitload of make up what they really mean is they hate a shitload of very obvious make up, I've seen women that I know have loads and loads of make up on and a man would never realise how much they have on because they've applied it well and it isn't emerald green or electric blue :)

I'm not into altering what someone has but a little make up to accentuate our best features I don't view as being fake, if a guy chooses a beard then trims it up into a smart goatee or whatever we don't as being fake so why should women making the most of themselves be viewed as fake?

It's where we do draw the line at making the most of ourselves - if someone's had kids and their boobs have drooped why shouldn't they have an op to correct that although I do dislike obviously fake looking tits I have no problem with a well done boob job.

If guys prefer the natural look why then does every single Miss America Pagent contestant, straight woman out on the town, Playboy centerfold, and Vogue model wear lots of makeup?

I think its because consumer pop culture says guys like lots of makeup so cosmetic companies can convince women they need lots of makeup so they get to sell lots of makeup.

Guys don't realize how easy they have it. Short hair they can wash with soap. They can have scruffy 5 o'clock shadow. They run around with bushy unibrows.

Well, I see your point but I disagree to some extent about how you phrase it, wf. Guys have it comparitively "easy" in the clothing/appearance department because they choose simple grooming habits and uncomplicated apparel. Women, on the other hand, choose to wear expensive makeup, elaborate hairstyles and fragile clothing.

I very rarely wear makeup, and when I do, I only use lip gloss and mascara. NO pore-clogging foundations or powders for me! The only thing I do to my skin is wash it daily with an oil-free acne scrub, and use a 1-minute mask once a week. *shrug* People tell me all the time that I have nice skin! So I must be doing something right.

Oops! I refer to myself as "average" and "girl next door" all the time. Hopefully more guys think of me as "cute" than "ugly" though!

I do wear makeup usually (although not always to work - I often don't get up in time! Need my sleep!!), but I don't go overboard with it. I don't like the looks of too much makeup either. And also the too-dark tans and bleached hair! I know a woman like that in real life and I think she's kind of odd looking. I'm sure she'd look fine if she was more "natural" looking, though.

While you seem like a nice, intelligent person, you're not exactly what I think of when I think "girl next door"
I'm sorry but you're just a little too old to be a "girl"
Google and I agree that this is a girl next door

she's not wearing very much makeup, her hair color is fake but she has nice hair, and she has nice smooth skin with a nice smooth natural tan line. She doesnt have huge boobs busting out or anything like that, so she's not some sort of playboy hottie, but you wouldnt mind tasting those sweet lips.

Some women handle natural, well, naturally and look really good while going the way nature takes them.

When I met up with my wife, in the High Sierra back country, she wasn't wearing any makeup and in the last 33 years she has never bought or borrowed any, and she doesn't use perfume either. She does use odor free skin lotion and she does use shampoo.

I think she is beautiful and people say that she is cute. Now at 59 she has some lines in her face, which I partly attribute to her smoking before we hooked up and to too much sun from both altitude and sunbathing in the past. She stopped sunbathing years ago when skin cancers attributed to sunbathing became more publicized.

She doesn't die her hair either, which is darker than my going gray look, she is showing some gray but that is normal for her age.

I think cosmetics can damage the skin, as well as smoking, and the obsession people have with tanning has also proved to be harmful.

Go forth, naked in all aspects, except when you need to cover up delicate skin from prolonged exposure to burning sun rays.

Would you rather be with a hot girl who wears a shitload of makeup, "does" her hair, and has fake tits or a not-so-pretty girl who dresses like a dude and could care less?

I don't think the makeup and hair can make someone that's ugly become hot. The way the question is asked makes it sound like the hot girl without the makeup would still be hotter than the not-so-pretty girl. And makeup can't hide a girl's body if she's not in shape. It's kind of a vague question to answer, but I'll take my chances with the hot makeup girl. :biggrin1:

I don't mind a good boob job.

I don't know if I can completely agree with you. If it's the woman's choice and not the man's, then men's magazines would have a completely different look. But since men's magazines are mostly edited and photographed by men, and they are the ones who choose the look and the clothes, then the message being sent is that it's what men want.

Not even the most beautiful women in the world, models and celebrities, pose without makeup and clothing. And when you go to a bar, it's generally going to be the one who has the makeup perfect, the hair done, the sexy clothes that is getting the attention.

It's a mixed message. Men want you to look like a model, but they want it to be "natural". Even models don't look like a model when they wake up in the morning.

Clothes, makeup, hair....it's all dictated by society and the response one gets from others.

Even men are falling under the pressure now. The metrosexual look, for example. Where they buy their clothes, what brand, their watch, who does their hair, what hair products they use. There a skin care and face cream lines just for men. Magazines with men dressed in designer clothes with a six pack underneath. Even so, they can get away with using just shampoo in their hair. If I don't run conditioner thru mine and let it sit while I finish my shower, then rinse, etc., my hair is going to be a bitch to comb, and dry, and frizzy. But believe me, any man I have been involved with would have a heart attack if I even thought of getting it cut off.

Again, I will go to the grocery store and out to lunch without makeup. I'll even wear my glasses and throw my hair up and feel just fine. But I can guarantee that if I was standing there casual vs. dressed up to go out, I'm going to get the most response to the dressed up me from the very same guys who state they love the "all natural" look.

Hmmmm, reading these replies makes me wonder - If guys prefer the natural look why then does every single Miss America Pagent contestant, straight woman out on the town, Playboy centerfold, and Vogue model wear lots of makeup?

Because, for a great many men, what they say they want, and what they actually want are not necessarily the same. In that respect men and women are very alike, they want a combination of things in a partner that seldom exists in reality. Because of this, we all resort to fakery to some degree or another. Well, perhaps not all but the exceptions (in my experience) are rare.

I've seen some women without makeup in the morning and they look down right scary. I think what you guys are talking about here is that natural "look" - a look that is achieved by the clever use of, yes, cosmetics.

Cosmetics aside, I suspect that 'first thing in the morning' realisation is a reaction common to both genders. I love the amateur psycho-analysts among us equating the use of cosmetics etc with 'self worth' without (so it seems) realising both the irony and inaccuracies in that view.

Interesting, wh. It sounds as if you are suggesting men control the fashion choices of women and women must comply.

I'm disappointed and dismayed to learn that so many women somehow feel obligated to dress the way men's magazines say they should. I'd prefer to see women be content to dress they way they want to dress.

Is this the only choice? How about hot, good looking, shapely, nice breasts and nipples, smells good, likes to fuck, likes to cum, enjoys a big dick cumming deep in her pussy, and all natural to boot? Not every woman buys into the cosmetic industry bullshit that a woman must whore herself up to look good enough to get a man interested in her.

don't know what most of you are talking about, I've dated plenty of girls who looked awesome just rolling out of bed in the morning, and even better after just stepping out of the shower. You don't need makeup to look good. Creams and lotions and such probably help, but I don't think they count as makeup as someone else insinuated, and I don't think they're absolutely necessary.

Is this the only choice?
Exactly. It's a bogus choice. None of the women that I have dated matched either description: all were pretty and had no fake tits, most never wore makeup, and those who did wore only lipstick.

Woman just out of the shower—damn it, why isn't there a drooling smiley?!

Personally I hate the clothing industry and would prefer that women wore nothing at all

I wear makeup. A little, not a lot. I don't wear it all the time. Sometimes I go out of the house with my hair in a twist, my specs, and a bare face. When I decide to "paint" my face, it's usually just tinted moisturiser, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss (I hate chapped lips). I'll wear lipstick on occasion but that's all.

I wear it because it makes me feel better about my appearance, knowing i've enhanced my features. However, I go without it often and it doesn't bother me. I must agree with wldhoney. I laugh when I hear men say they love "natural" looking women and then pick up a magazine and drool after some chick on the ad. These "hot" women men drool after wear excessive amounts of makeup and are photoshopped to death.

I wonder what "Miss Valentine" looks like in the morning...
