One for the Brits perhaps ?
Last night on Channel 4 there was a touching documentary about primordial dwarves. There are only 100 in the world and are especially tiny at 3ft tall twith tiny teeth, internal organs, etc.
The sufferers are short-lived often dying at aged 30 or less.
The subject was sensitively dealt with by British film-maker Jane Treays and featured some of the American sufferers who were feisty, clever and short of self pity.
Contrast that with America's Next Supermodel on an alternative channel ...

Yes, Nelly, I have seen similar shows. Achondroplasia is the most common type of dwarfism, and the little people who played the munchkins on The Wizard of Oz were of this type. Their bones do not grow properly. In the primordials, their dwarfism begins at conception, where their entire body - bones, organs, all of it - fails to grow at a normal rate. They tend to have many health problems and usually do not have a long lifespan, often dying before or shortly after puberty.

The shows that I have seen on this sort of thing has usually been very touching, indeed.

Quite sad. But perhaps to put in persepective, THEY ARE PEOPLE, NOT BIOLOGY PROJECTS! Celebration of the gift of life is far more meaningful than the sorrow of 'maldevelopment.'

Not sad at all.
Uplifting and interesting, certainly .
They were treated as people and not biology projects.
They showed strength of character, humanity and great courage.
"Maldevelopment" is more Jade, Jackiey and Jack on Celebrity Big Brother !
Now that was a "biology project".
Deeply sad.
