I think this whole project with the TV series and book release is to clear the slate and basically take control of the narrative away from the tabloids much like his mother attempted to do in the 90s. Considering the very public and endless debate about whether or not they have been trimmed, throwing it out there certainly stops the conversation and keeps people from trying to find out IE he just took back control of that narrative...
