She drove me plum nuts. But on that note, seeing her get banned turns another page in the history of LPSG. I know this place goes through many seasons, many will volunteer to leave when the wind changes. It just doesn't have the same intensity it once had. And now it most certainly wont.

I hope NJ finds something more constructive to do with her time. Sometimes being tossed is the best thing for us. She sure had a lot of blogs and threads to be totally gone now. It's a lot to put into a place to see it end this way.

I think she was the Whitest Black Girl she knew....and she felt out of place with whites and with blacks. Compounded by her personal situations that have been brought up in this thread already. I hope she has some positive things in her life to get her through. I think LPSG was once that for her but its gotten increasingly "old hat"

After reading the thread in question, i believe Eve was not tempted by an Apple, but a Lemon.

Yes NJ will be missed. I think many of us have over the years become addicted to the interactions good and bad of this board. I hope whatever she choses to do now she will find some enjoyment it it.
She did use that term "The whitest black girl I know" to describe herself sometimes, didnt she? However , I have to disagree with you PM about her not getting along with either group.NJ actually is quite grounded in who she is. She is a woman who has lived between two worlds as many educated culturally diverse individuals tend to do. Very much knowing and appreciating her "Blackness", she has interests and experiences that have taken her beyond what many might consider the average "Black' experience. She is a child of Civil rights era parents and has learned to walk that line sometimes fitting in sometimes not. But then isnt that the case with most of us?
I think often we get just a snap shot of who someone is in our quick and often volatile interactions on the net and they give us a false sense of knowing. I am definitely not one to say why any one of us does anything but whatever her foibles and choices I do wish her the best and I think you do as well.

I know Principessa! She doesn't have a racist bone in her precious body. She is a delightfull lady who occassionally can get wound up. She certainly does not suffer fools.

I find the word 'cracker' offensive. It's meant as deragotary. People should know better than to use it, regardless of their 'true' intentions. I wouldn't use the 'N' word and I find it offensive that blacks use it on each other. It's very demeaning regardless of who says it and 'how' it's used. I know that they think it's ok when using it against each other but it's not ok. The term carries more negative connotation than anything positive and it affects one to some degree emotionally and mentally.

I didn't know this gal. It's only natural that the people who liked her are crying foul. But that shouldn't give her a free pass because she's well liked. Kudos to the mods for not playing the popularity bullshit.

I would just like to make it very clear that in my opinion if NJ was banned for being racist, then this was an incorrect assessment. She got pissy and dissed a few people, yes. But she was not being racist. I am very happy to discuss this properly with anyone.

I'll just reitterate that there are numrous posters here who are consistently, maliciously, and deliberately offensive and yet they remain. The thread in question, in which I posted, was posed as a reasonable issue for discussion of physcian credentials and got out of hand. To me that is qualitatively different than first posts that open along the lines of "Isn't this an interesting bit of information and it proves that member X is sympathetic towards terrorism." Such a post serves no purpose but to offend, insult, and inflame. There are plenty others and the fact that this is allowed to continue while Principessa was permanently banned is disappointing and disturbing!

I would have defended anyone who fell into this kind of situation. Not just because I am friendly with NJ.

It's a shame these things come to blows as they do.

In the two years I have known NJ, I have never once known her to express hate for white people at all or refer to them as cracker in derogatory way. She dates white men in fact, so the previous description of her being angry and racists is not entirely accurate.

She is opinionated and speaks her mind, so do many others here, including the ones on contributing to this thread.

I think this will be a good thing for her, to make a clean break and have some time away from the often weighty confrontations conducive to this place.
