If Djokovic doesn't end up year-end number 1, they will have to fix the rankings system somehow, 3/4 majors and not being number 1 is just too ridiculous, and I'm speaking as a Federer fan.
Not sure what the solution is, maybe make the Majors a bit more points, and the World Tour Finals worth less? idk.
The tour is not just grand slams though. If his concern is winning grand slams then that is fine, however, he should also be fine with not being number one. The system rewards playing tournaments not skipping them.

I don't disagree with that. For me, based on where we are at, Novak edges it now. I hope he secures year end and one of two more slams to end the argument
What makes him so deserving of it? I see people down Rafa and Roger's accomplishments as if it was just regular stuff they did. Is it easy to win the same 3 tournaments more than 10 times? What about winning Olympic gold? What about contributions to the sport of tennis? Does none of that apply? If he never wins another grand slam and Rafa or Fed do, is he still the Goat to you?

I'd be fine with that if he only won 2 majors this year, but 3? No. They'll have to bump them up to 2500 pts each, instead of 2000 (imo)

That would destroy the tour though. No one would play regular tournaments. Grand slams are about prestige and should not be about points. They are already double what a Masters tournament gives you and to me, a Masters tournament is harder to win because there is no easy match. A grand slam allows the ability to typically have three easy matches in the first three rounds.
