Wow, alot of great opinions and alot of different perspectives.
Trying to survive infidelity in a relationship is not something you will figure out here, or in the next few days. I've been working through this same thing in my marriage of 10 years since last October. I go back and forth with things, but have learned to keep my thoughts to myself and just work through this on my own. I forgave her, but now I'm at a point of trying to see if I can live with what has happened.
Like the enlightened female said, threats and ground rules will surely cause someone to deceive you out of fear. The other thing I would add is that your reaction in these situations down the road will have a bearing on how honest the other person will be. Speaking from experience, I way over reacted basically blew a gasket and because of that I don't think I ever got the whole truth because she clammed up. Lesson learned.
