A couple people have compared these girls to Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks would have been selfish, too, if the bus authority told her that her actions would result in nobody being allowed to ride the bus for a year but she still refused to follow the rules.

There are also legitimate differences between what as seen as discrimination against gay couples and discrimination against a single "race".

Totally different situations.

Ah, I see. Discrimination against a particular group is permissible only if you threaten to shut down the service you offer to everyone, if anyone complains.

I had never thought of that. Excuse me while I go fire all the Jews who work for me. If any of them complain, I'll close down the office.

Actually, they're totally analogous.

Unless you're really packing, I wouldn't be interested, sugartits. Whip it out and post a pic and I'll tell you whether I'm disappointed by your unsolicited refusal.

Sorry, my dick goes limp at the sight of abhorrent stupidity. You'll just have to go fuck yourself. Troll.

Typical sugartits! When someone expresses an opinion that you don't have tolerance for, you accuse them of trolling.

You've accused me of trolling several times now, and I think it's just that you can't handle that there are people out there with legitimate views opposing your own. You're acting like a narrow minded ignoramus. If you disagree with me, tell me WHY instead of just accusing me of being a troll.

To me, it seems that your goal is to disagree with everything people say around here simply for the sake of disagreeing. I have yet to see a post where you can say you agreed with people on any particular topic unless those people are of your ilk. You know, those that joined LSPG not for the plethora of penises available...oh no, they join just to stir the pot. Now, notice that I never called you anything (i.e. troll or otherwise) so you can't do to me what you're attempting to do to VB. This is just an observation...

Yes, it is wrong of the school. However- if these girls cared about anyone but themselves, they'd duck out and let everyone have their prom.
Maybe the cowardly bigot school administrators should stop violating the Constitution and discriminating against the students they were hired to teach and protect. How about that idea instead sport, hmmm?

Discrimination is discrimination, it makes NO difference if it is discriminating against a white man or black woman gay or straight. You think there are margins for intolerance and hate, and so long as certain lines aren't crossed, its just fine and dandy.

There is no difference between denying inter-racial marriage and gay marriage. They are exactly the same. To what 'legitimate' differences are you referring?

First of all, morality is relative. Depending on what the world and the nation thinks, different things become acceptable. For instance- at the time of Rosa Parks' bus incident, the vast majority of the nation and the world was against segregation, in terms of popular opinion. Today, there are only 9 nations in the WORLD who perform gay marriage, including the USA and Mexico who, as you know, aren't very open to gay marriage at all.

The nation's opinion of gay marriage is obviously that it is immoral. Almost every time a state or locality has allowed gay marriage, it has been forced back out.

If gay marriage is immoral, why should it be allowed in our public schools? We don't allow the kids public displays of affection in school for the same reason.

Second reason racist discrimination is different: your race is clearly visible just from looking at you. It is something that you can't hide. If these girls really wanted to go to prom together, they could have found a way without official involvement. They could hide it. Instead, they decided to rub it in everyone's face by one of them insisting on going so far as to wear a tuxedo. I wouldn't want them letting in a person wearing assless chaps, either- it would just be an immoral, distracting, selfish act of defiance against the norm, ruining everyone's magical night.

And yes, I already said that the school was wrong to allow them to ruin prom by just shutting it all down.

Made-up bullshit that I never said

You really have a gift for taking things out of context and twisting words around, don't ya sugartits? Stop trying to disparage me by underhanded means and instead refute my actual POINTS.

Oh wait, you can't. That's why you resort to your logical fallacies every damn time you come up against someone you disagree with.

My heaven's a WOMAN IN A TUXEDO. (That's Diane Keaton practicing immorality at the Oscars) BTW, I'm a Gay Man in an Immoral Marriage.

There's Something Queer about That Face: Scientific American

Actually this study indicates that gays can be identified by their faces even if they aren't fabulous. So it is something that makes them different from straight people and they can't exactly hide their faces. And gay civil rights are at stake here. That a majority oppose gay marriage in many states isn't an argument against it anyways.

Who cares what a bunch of knuckle-draggers think? They don't get to change the Constitution so minority rights aren't protected. And why do you have to be such an asshole?

There are so many things in this response that don't make sense. Here are the highlights:

- discrimination is not the same as morality. Discrimination can be defined easily - see any online dictionary. This fits the definition.
- rights are not bestowed in a popularity contest or majority vote.
- they aren't getting married in school, they're dancing. What does gay marriage have to do with this?
- true, the majority of countries don't allow gay marriage. The majority of countries are also dictatorships. Does that mean we should stop having elections?

Who said anything about gay marriage?

Yes, they could "hide it". Is that really what you're advocating here as a healthy solution?

And the only people who equate the assertion of rights with "rubbing it in everyone's face" are homophobes, nazis and their ilk.

The "chaps" business is just more false analogizing in order to distract from the asininity of your position.

That you're sticking with the "ruining everyone's magical night" indicates a chronic case of closedmindedness. Surprise.

I honestly don't give a damn what you think on any issue. Because you're such a dishonest troll with intentional gender bending issues, what's to say that you're not lying to everyone now just to get a rise out of them? And please, stop calling me by your pet name. I still won't fuck you.

Mister_Buildington, I have four words for you: Successful troll is successful.

Seriously guys, MB, while quite the obvious troll, really knows which buttons to push. You'd be better off not even acknowledging its posts.
