If you are good with Trudeau’s then why aren’t we giving the same consideration to Kavanaugh?
Did Trudeau sexually assault someone? I must have missed that since I don't read the right wing propaganda blogs...

Any media source be it conservative or liberal has a double standard. They preach to their own choir. It's easy to see when you're not a fan of either of these parties.

When Obama was president, the right spent 8 years slamming every thing he tried to do as president through their media sources. Even some things that would benefit the country, they flat out refused to reach across the table. And the right wing media constantly attached a negative slant to it. Mitch McConnell said himself the republican's job is to make sure Obama only served one term. That was before he even took office. Before he tried to do anything. After two wars, the economic crash during conservative rule. If you remember, Bush got the ball rolling on bailouts right before he left office. However, conservative media wasted no time blaming Obama for it after he got into office. Although he did continue the ill fated process. ( my opinion) The right wing media made sure to keep telling us it was Obama's brainchild and not Bush's. After the election, the conservative base got amnesia and blamed the Democrats for everything that happened under Bush's watch. I didn't agree with a lot of the things Obama wanted to do, but I witnessed the right's actions during 44's administration. It was Sad and Pathetic.

Fast forward to Trump's administration, The Conservative media does a 180. The sky isn't falling anymore. And everything is better except for Illegal Immigrants. Trump's administration is full of vacancies, people who never owed in their life during tax season, now do. EPA, clean air regulations tossed aside or rendered ineffective, UN resolutions rendered ineffective. And right wing media couldn't be happier. They explain away Trump's tweets, prejudiced comments, and lack of decorum. The first lady is given a pass for posing nude in the past. And they say it's okay. Get over it. Even Evangelicals steered clear of it. If Michelle Obama did that in college, Fox News would had never let you forget it. Shit, she couldn't get away with wearing sleeveless attire. The conservative media claims they have never seen so much bias for the current president. But were the main culprits dousing gasoline on the airwaves and torching them during Obama's two terms. If Obama had in any way tweeted some of the the things Trump has, called out conservative Hollywood figures, athletes, or singers. Showed anger, or had a lapse of judgement. They would had crucified him. He said one day Travon Martin could had been his son and the conservative media spun it as Obama was dividing the country.

So yeah, there is a double standard on both sides.
Point well made @AdamHenry

New Video Surfaces Showing Trudeau in Blackface, Compounding Scandal

Trudeau has donned blackface more than once, hasn’t apologized for it, instead transferred blame to society, but no one has called on him to quit, because he is a liberal star. Megyn Kelly just talked about blackface and got fired.

Liberals are such bullshit phonies, but it is fun to catch them in their toxic hypocrisy.

I'm curious. Now that the impeachment hearings and impeachment trial is over. And we all now know trump is 100% guilty of everything he was accused of. Even more guilty considering he literally put the fix in on multiple different occasions. How exactly does that stack up with blackface? lol

To me. Blackface doesn't even compare now does it. That's small potatoes. Republicans and conservatives have now crowned trump as the king of america. Have now deemed him..above the love. So...what were you saying about hypocrisy again? lol

Dude, you took the words right out of my mouth! If this isn’t the absolutely height of hypocrisy, then I don’t know what is! I’m apoplectic at the audacity of such a post, and there have been many from this member. But this one takes the cake.

And to 2019 Award for Hypocrisy goes to . . . .

This is why so many have left this garbage dump of a Politics forum.

well you forget that Trump was acquitted for his 'high crimes and misdemeanors' that couldn't be named outright so we can move past this and focus on real racist injustice like allowing Justin Trudeau and Ralph Northam to wear black face without repercussions.

Or even Bloomberg and his racist remarks, if Trump had said something like this..I can't imagine the reaction. There is certainly a double standard.

I'm sure Bloomberg changing his opinions has everything to do with his heart and nothing to do with his campaign.

Wearing black face isn't a crime. Assault is.

Pulling down statues? Okay try to keep up, statues in the past...okay but statues still up today...take them down. The South lost so no need to commemorate them in parades or by having statues to their "greatness" in the park.
Let’s just erase all history of this young country that way we will never learn from our mistakes.

Speaking of statues.

Here's what Robert E. Lee thought about Confederate monuments

[ Debates about the removal of Confederate statues have been ongoing for years, and opponents of removing the monuments often decry such proposals as an attempt to erase history.

However, "it's often forgotten that Lee himself, after the Civil War, opposed monuments, specifically Confederate war monuments," Jonathan Horn, a Lee biographer, told PBS. ]

Despite all of Trump's complaints, Robert E. Lee didn't even want Confederate statues erected

[ President Donald Trump has now denounced the idea of taking down statues honoring Confederate officials on multiple occasions.

However, it’s worth noting that Robert E. Lee, the Confederate general whose statue was at the center of the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend, “opposed monuments,” a biographer of the general told PBS.

“It’s often forgotten that Lee himself, after the Civil War, opposed monuments, specifically Confederate war monuments,” said Jonathan Horn, who wrote The Man Who Would Not Be Washington, told PBS. ]

And of course, from the man himself.

[ “I think it wiser,” the retired military leader wrote about a proposed Gettysburg memorial in 1869, “…not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife, to commit to oblivion the feelings engendered.” ]

[ “As regards the erection of such a monument as is contemplated,” Lee wrote of an 1866 proposal, “my conviction is, that however grateful it would be to the feelings of the South, the attempt in the present condition of the Country, would have the effect of retarding, instead of accelerating its accomplishment; [and] of continuing, if not adding to, the difficulties under which the Southern people labour.” ]

So as we can see not only are liberals honoring what he wanted but that he was in agreement with liberals about why statues should not have been created to begin with.

Meaning any news station or so called news station that said he did in fact want it and that it would honor him. Were...officially...fake news.

It also helps to note who built them, when and why.

Confederate Statues Were Built To Further A 'White Supremacist Future'

[ "Most of the people who were involved in erecting the monuments were not necessarily erecting a monument to the past," said Jane Dailey, an associate professor of history at the University of Chicago."But were rather, erecting them toward a white supremacist future."

The most recent comprehensive study of Confederate statues and monuments across the country was published by the Southern Poverty Law Center last year. A look at this chart shows huge spikes in construction twice during the 20th century: in the early 1900s, and then again in the 1950s and 60s. Both were times of extreme civil rights tension.

In the early 1900s, states were enacting Jim Crow laws to disenfranchise black Americans. In the middle part of the century, the civil rights movement pushed back against that segregation.

James Grossman, the executive director of the American Historical Association, says that the increase in statues and monuments was clearly meant to send a message.

"These statues were meant to create legitimate garb for white supremacy," Grossman said. "Why would you put a statue of Robert E. Lee or Stonewall Jackson in 1948 in Baltimore?" ]

So. Double standard? Sure. Was it liberals doing so? Ah....not so much. :p
