Why do you think porn is so focused on "big penises" in a porn culture where the stud is just a prop to other men? The answer: men are obsessed with props.

On a serious note, men are jealously attracted to the ideal penis, which is both very big and shapely. But, unlike women, they are much less likely to admit their jealously attractions, or the fact that they desire to see same-gender body images. If a man is caught looking at another man's penis by itself (no woman in the picture), society seems to often react with the question "Are you gay?", even if is meant in the most jokingly of ways (still makes men uncomfortable). If one would choose to think logically, do consider that he is a man, which means he himself has a penis, and therefore his eyes will naturally gravitate towards other ones to know where he stands on the chart of "physical" manliness. University degrees are not necessary to know that men equate big penises with big masculinity, no matter how you slice or dice it (boys clearly know that 10 years-old). And there isn't much you can do about it.

In conclusion, it is safe to say that keeping your eyes off another man's physical assets is to affirm one's heterosexuality, no matter unnatural that may be.

Sorry to disappoint, but the conclusions ain't exactly consistent.

Conclusion: "Men aren't interested in what she is wearing"

Reality - women weren't interested in what HE was wearing! Not one bit!

Conclusion: Women were more interested in what she was wearing.

Reality - they were also the only ones who looked directly at her pussy too! Men did not

I don't understand how they couldn't have come up with the conclusion that men were actually looking at the man's swimsuit in the same way as the women were!

As Gecko said. Women have greater periphery vision. http://roman-online.net/node/82 Probably 180 degrees! Men have to look directly at things, which is why they have to turn right round to take a good look at a girl, whereas women can sneak looks.

The eyetracker can only detect head on looks.

Not sneaky lady leers! This only proves how deceptive women can be!

i've said this before but most women aren't bulge oglers nor penis admirers like men think they are.

i think porn has distorted this image and make men think that all women dream about big fat cocks and they want to smother it all over their faces and want you to bust a load on their foreheads and that they stare at bulges and immediately get wet and think about how bad they want it inside them. not the case. women like the sensation of a penis but not the penis itself.

i know a lot of women who think male strip clubs are gross and would rather go to a female strip club. this one girl told me how she went to a male strip club for a bachelorette party and all the girls were scared and running away from the strippers. women also don't like penis pics. they think its sick and perverted.
PSA: Hey Men, Listen Up!! - YouTube

so yea fellas. if you're trying your hardest to bulge out in public the only ones that you're gonna be impressing are other men.

I still think women in general are more likely to get less repulsed over explicit pictures of men than they are of women (unlike they are hardcore lesbians).

Women can get quite crazy with male strippers, but they are still lots of women who are very uptight and turned off by nudity/porn (much more than men).

We are doing a lot of generalizations in this thread, but I do agree that men are more interested in my penis size than most women are. It is true. That said, that doesn't mean that the are some real size queens who are female (much more than you'd think)

I had the same thought crackoff did. The women seem to have stared all over the woman's breasts and pelvic region just like the men looked at the man's package. But the assumption is that they were looking at her clothes, while they were staring at his penis. Why two different assumptions to explain similar events? Seems to me a lot of the men were likely staring in shock because this dude was walking around in a hot pink bikini - more "What a fag" and less "I wonder what his penis looks like."

And we mustn't omit to notice that in the picture, the man himself is looking down at his junk. The other guys aren't going to have their eyes drawn down to where his are?

Also, maybe there were a lot of bisexual or gay guys in the sample, meaning that a lot of the documented looking was wolfish, not based on what they're implying in the write up. Or maybe there were a bunch of lesbians who couldn't care less about his package, explaining the women's lack of attention to it.

What we have here is an isolated study that gave us some data that could be interpreted and explained a variety of ways. Too many variables and not very well executed. What we don't have is "proof" of anything.

Well I often work with an eyetracker and can tell you that if those pictures were used exactly as they are shown here (it seems so because of the areas inbetween the male and female model), the study was utter bullshit. I don't want to argue about the "results" but the people who did this study obviously didn't know how to work with an eyetracker properly.

ring & watch.
women look for a wedding band.
men check out his watch.

which is why the women didn't find their eyes attracted to it?
silly you!

I can agree with you on the ring theory for women, but the watch answer doesn't make sense for the men. Does this indicate men suffer from watch envy? Nah. Guys just aren't into worrying about accessories on other men, unless they are blades or firearms.

Honestly I think the calibrated heat seeking technically advanced gee-whiz thing isn't quite perfect.

Eyetrackers only work as good as they're calibrated. And you need to calibrate them for every single user. So if a user messes up during calibration the whole measurement will give wrong results.

You may be perfectly correct, but the greater reality here is that we don't need an eyetracker device to know that the vast majority of men naturally want to know the size of other men's penises. When the chance arises, they're looking, no matter how deceptively it has to be. :biggrin1:

so women on here that admit to being bulge checkers are what, lieing out of habbit or what?

Really? You're telling me that your going to take the answer of a suspect survey over the answer of an individual? If that person says they check out bulges that is true for that person. You cannot assume that because one is others are or are not. That's just silly.

While I see it can make some sense for the test, but it doesn't say how many people they tested on both sides, so I don't really believe all of what it's saying.

Honestly tho I can truly say I'm one of those women who rarely check bulges. Half the time I don't even think to look. Not to say I haven't checked cause I have just not as much as one would thing. I do check out boobs a million times more then I do bulges. I just love boobs, and it's not out of jealously I just like to admire if another woman has a nice rack regardless of size.

for those of us less knowlegable, explain the evidence for the tests being incorrectly conducted?

me too! i'm always looking at boobs. maybe i just like to look. maybe, like with the boys, we subconsciously size up the competition.
