Leaked documents reveal GOP plan to use scare tactics to raise money - Yahoo! News

    The (s)hits keep comin', folks:

"...The best path to victory in 2010, the document advises, is for Republican candidates to depict themselves as the best hope for resisting the 'trending toward socialism'..."

"...The presentation portrays the Obama administration as "The Evil Empire," including the now-infamous image of President Obama made over in the makeup Heath Ledger used in his performance as the Joker..."

"...the aim of such caricature is to amp up "fear" among the GOP's conservative base."

Here's what they think even of their OWN supporters:

"...The memo also makes fun of major RNC donors, categorizing some as "ego-driven" and easily pacified with "tchochkes" (a Slavic word for toys)."

Rich people don't become powerful because they're nice, decent, upstanding citizens...

I don't think decency or virtue are confined to any socio-economic class. As Tolstoy said, "The greed of the poor is uglier than the greed of the rich".

^Tolstoy was a novelist, not a sociologist. Furthermore, he was born into the Russian aristocracy... He was no more qualified to determine who was virtuous, than I am to determine when a person has cancer and needs treatment. (I'm a structural designer and web consultant by trade)

However, what is confined to wealthier people over others is the expectation of social responsibility. Wealthy people these days are forgetting how it works in America. Working stiffs don't admire people who get rich and then fuck over everyone else. No, they admire people who get rich, and then spend their older years giving most, if not all of it back to society. For a real world example; Bill Gates and Warren Buffett get it... The Waltons don't.

While I agree wholeheartedly with your observation, when it came time to "support the man", as it were, when my 5 year-old Dell laptop finally died I returned to the "light side" and purchased a $3,600 MacBook Pro with extra tits and feathers. After working with software project teams for many, many years -- including being an early worker bee for Microsoft -- I couldn't, with a clean conscience, by another PC using yet another poorly designed Microsoft operating system.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!

We're quoting the Russians for perpective, are we? Are you submitting the Russians as experts on morality, economics, sociology? Are we good Republicans doing that? What would Joltin' Joe McCarthy think about this? Have you cleared it with Rush, Sean, Karl, and Dick?

    Ah, the irony.

    Thanks for the laugh.

 No problem. But it's simply breathtaking the audacity.
