The treatment is flomax. I had trouble starting and maintaining a urine stream. Flomax changed all that and now I pee like I'm 20 years old(I'm 63). The major side effect is retrograde ejaculation.
@Industrialsize do you think I need flomax

If you don't want to take another drug that may have side effects with you, consider it or try it for a period of time. You can discuss this with your Urologist. There are other options that are a bit invasive. However some that your prostate only be so large and once it get past that size the Urologist They can do an implant to your prostate called Urolift you can take a look at this procedure. Just remember the Urologist may not want to use this procedure if your prostate is to large. They will then probably suggest TURP procedure. I went to the Urologist to see about a TURP and after all the tests he put me through including a very antiquated procedure they use to do a prostate biopsy and i finally decided that he wasn't going to do anything but tests until my insurance won't pay for anymore tests. I never went back after the biopsy. I am thinking of finding another Urologist but have not done it yet. I want the best for you and to be equipped with information and be able to ask your Urologist questions. Oh and I am on the generic of flomax and it does work however with me there is is a side effect but not severe. It does increase my urin stream to almost what it was at a much earlier age.

I made two piss videos today. And when I watched them I saw that the problem is worse than I thought.
What do you think?

I forgot to say that the use of flomax to increase urine flow does not stop the prostate from growing.

@japetty what do you think. Must I do something or can I wait

I don't know how old you are at this time so I can't even say what I would do If I were you. Some guys run into prostate issues at an early age. I was at an advanced age when it started with me. Also if you drink or eat things that might irritate the situation. If you don't mind can you give me your age bracket?

Another is finasteride which has the advantage of being the same drug also sold as Propecia. Which means it can help you keep your hair (Donald Trump's secret elixir...).

Also, some doctors will prescribe daily use Cialis as it can also help relieve urinary issues caused by prostate enlargement.

Both of these fall into the "two birds with one stone" category and, as such, your doctor may need to fight your insurance company to get them approved.

You can start on Flomax and then complain about side effects (blurred vision is a common, and worrisome, one...) in order to justify one of these other meds.

@hzs3fg you think finasteride is better for me than flomax

I started on Flomax after a kidney stone procedure when I literally could not pass urine *at all* for 24 hours due to swelling. Anyway, I took Flomax around dinnertime soon after filling the prescription and when I woke up the next morning my vision was severely blurry.

Now, I wear eyeglasses for both reading and distance, so my first thought was, no problem, I'm just a little more bleary-eyed than usual this morning. Then I put my glasses on and realized that I still couldn't see!

My wife looked it up (as I really couldn't do it myself) and found that blurred vision is a common side effect of Flomax. Called the urologist and he switched me to finasteride.

The Cialis connection is another story.

Be very careful with Finasteride as the side effects can be much worse in some people than Flowmax. My Urologist prescribed those for a while. My Primary Care Physician prescribed the Flowmax generic for me. I looks like you are not in the USA so your health system is entirely different than here in the USA. I would see a Urologist about the issue as your urine is severly restricted. Much more restricted than my urine was when I started complaining and decided to see a Urologist. The two choices you have 1. Do nothing. The urination issue just keeps getting more severe. If this is in fact a prostate problem the prostate keeps getting larger. 2. You see a Urologist and either you and he decide on medication as the answer and you are able to urinate more normal. The other choices to discuss with your Urologist are something I would be discussing more with the Urologist as you end up with not taking the drugs which can cause side effects in many people. Like I said personally just from the way I see those urination vids I would be finding me an acceptable Urologist and making an appointment. To me your urination is severely restrained. Good Luck with finding yourself a Urologist it is somewhat a difficult task. Keep us informed at how things are going.

Oh for God's sake, see a urologist. Period. While everybody else's story might be frightening to you, they are all alive and functioning, which you will be also. Everyone is different; who knows what your issue is or what recommendations will be made. The one thing is certain: if you operate out of fear over this, you will always be fearful and never know. Get on the phone and make an appointment.
