At 72 years old my prostate grew really large. I of course developed all the problems associated with an enlarged prostate. I opted for a fairly new procedure called Vascular Embolization. The vascular doctor went through my arm down to my prostate . He blocked the main artery on either side of my prostate to limit the blood to my prostate. This should starve it of blood and it should shrink it. Funny thing is that since he done the procedure, it seems as iff my dick is getting more blood and though it’s not hard it seems as if it a little chubbier and longer when soft. I am already peeing betterand he said it will take 6-8 weeks to completely shrink down . Maybe it’s my imagination., but I hope all my sexual function gets back to normal.

Hello Thomas? Great photo. It is late here, but wanted to write that I am interested in your post and hope to hear how you progress. It sounds as if you are already benefitting from the procedure. I am 76 and not only have an enlarged prostate, but type 2 diabetes. I have been advised of available treatments by my urologist, however, I have chosen not to proceed with any of them to date. I am able to achieve a semi, never hard, but can still masturbate every few days. Also, several nightly trips to the bathroom during the night are the norm for me. I will "watch" the thread and look for comments from others and look forward to hearing of your success. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Viagra and Cialis did little for me so I took Viagra last night and woke up with morning wood. Very rare occurrence. Not sure if the procedure is really helping with erections or not. I opted for this out patient procedure because of horrir stories with the others. I forget the numbers but my prostae was huge which made me a good candidate fir this procedure. Getting ready for Sunday service and dick still was a bit full……though not hard.

Good to hear you are progressing so well. Any new variation of treatments for this diseae is welcome. And you had a woody. Main thing is to reduce the prostate, sex really is an afterthought once the size has been reduced.

I'm 73 and I had the same procedure which is usually done by an interventional radiologist. I had a extremely large prostate and woke up 2-3 times a night to pee. It was pressing on my urethra and caused my bladder to never fully empty so i urinated frequently. After the procedure I was 99% better and am so glad I did it. It is much safer than all the other prostate reducing surgeries which have a lot of side effects. Still wake up with good morning woodI have not had any problems sexually. I still use cialis and a cock ring due to vascular leakage. I can get an erection, just do not stay hard as long as I would like due to the vascular leakage. I can now last as long as my wife wants and even sometimes too long before I blow. I am a grower and after the surgery i do feel like I am chubbier flaccid. If you have an enlarged prostate go for the PAE tx. you will not regret it.

Does every man get enlarged prostate eventually?
To some extent, yes, but it really depends on a lot of factors - most importantly, whether you used it enough. Having a daily wank between an age I can’t mention here and 45 will phenomenally reduce the chance of issues in later life.
And no, sex is not a substitute. THere is some nuance to that but that is beyond the scope.

If you live long enough most men will have BPH and/or cancer of the prostate. Early detection and treatment is a must. Just like colon cancer.

It may not get back to normal size, it may just shrink enough so it does not press on your urethra. Which is all you want for it ti happen. I have noticed that I have very little pre-cum as I use too?? Good luck, hope you do well with the procedure, and you come out fucking great.

Lucky for you! Someone I know just had a Prostate Aquablation. And though they piss like a racehorse now, their ejaculation is gone and their ability to tell if they need to piss is fucked up. Dr says give it three months to overcome the incontinence but the retrograde ejaculation is forever. Orgasm, no cum (or just a little pea sized blob). No more Flomax (which is proven to cause dementia).

I am having symptoms of a UTI and have an appointment in the morning with my urologist. It is my plan to discuss the PAE procedure because they are affiliated with Tampa General that performs the procedure. I have been on Tamsulosin for some time and since it is a generic for Flomax, I read your post with interest. I checked "Dr. Google" and confirmed that dementia is indeed a possibility for patients using the drugs. It will have to be an educated decision to proceed with an embolization so I am gathering as much information as possible bot pro and con. Btw, I lived in Charlotte for 12 years from 1976 to 1988 until I was transferred to Florida. I enjoyed the city then and loved calling North Carolina home. Happy Halloween. Cheers!

Sorry that your friend is having problems after PAE procedure. I guess I am lucky because the procedure PAE worked great for me. Not sure why you have retrograde ejaculation after the procedure since it does not affect that area / Hopefully after 3. months you will be back to normal and can piss llike a racehorse and have no sexual problems. Good luck

Sounds like he may have had a procedure called Resume which normally will not cause retrograde ejaculation. I had Resume and did find for about 3 years. It was very painful procedure where the PAE you are asleep. The Resume is where they take a rod up you penis and on the constriction part of the urethra they use steam to blast the prostate and to shrink the prostate at that point of restriction. It is different than PAE. Resume works and glad I had it done at the time but fuck it was painful, but better than not being able to pee or waking up 3-4 times a night because you dribble a little out at a time.

Years ago I had Rezum. At the time I was told that the process may have to be repeated as the prostate continues to grow. I opted for PAE since it is a more permanent procedure. I have taken doxasosin and daily cialis for symptons and has it has worked. I really wanted to shrink my 200gr prostate rather than treat the symptoms though.
