The recent trend of using of penis prosthetics by male celebrities, especially in American-produced movies and shows, seesm a bit of a cop-out. I understand the use when there is actual simulated sex or if the dick needs to be hard, or if it needs to pee due to updated and recent current modern 'regulations and rules', but outside that actors are using them too. And of course the problem with actors being coy regarding the usage in their interviews. Do you feel it's a cop-out or rip-off? Should there be a prosthetics disclaimer on the tv episode or movie? I know there are consumers that said they would not have paid for or given 'them' their money, if they knew a prosthetic was used. Some male British and European actors have laughed and derided the actors use of prosthetics, saying cop-out or what a joke; some have defended the use.

In my opinion, it amounts to a "cop-out" at best and outright deception at worst. The simple reality of the matter is that, in most instances, when a famous actor does a frontal nude scene in a movie or television show, it will be promoted--along with other aspects of the production--as an opportunity for his fans to see his dick. If the dick that the actor actually displays on the screen, therefore, turns-out not to be his own, those people who were lured to see the production by the promise of seeing the actor's private parts, clearly deserve to have either their money or their time back.

I agree.

If an actor has a frontal nudity scene in the movie script, if he doesn't feel comfortable with it. then bail out. Using a prosthetic is using 'a way out of it' card and bullshit. Sees to be more in American productions. Love that the older British actors that have done their obligatory frontal scene find the idea of a fake dick stupid.

I do not think its a cop out. If a man does not want o show his genitals on camera/film he should not have to and he should not lose the job either. Showing Male sex organs is very taboo in our society. And lets face it, many men have issues with the size of their dicks...even if their dicks are average or bigger. Sports broadcasts make a very concerted effort to not show a mans bulge. Next time you watch a football game or men's diving and swimming competition or men's wrestling, pay attention and you will see the camera pan up the guys body very quickly. On the other hand it fine to show a women's breasts on any show. They can't hide them as well as a man can hide his bulge in baggy pants. Even the building codes require partitions between the urinals so other men cannot see your dick. So I see no problem with guys using prosthetic dicks on screen. Besides, I like to think the guy (like Bradley Cooper for example) is hung....even if he's not.

I think it’s crazy how, movies/TV have shown women’s breast, A-list actresses, to a extra with no lines, and is fine, and really does set a scene for a movie, and from a lot of interviews over the years most actresses are very much pushed to do it, even if they aren’t comfortable, and don’t get the option to have a prosthetic, and not have to show their real boobs.

So why should guys?… I first wanna see more cocks in mainstream movies and see famous guys dicks

It's completely lame. Be a man and show your cock or don't do it at all.
I agree with you completely: don't accept the part if you can't fulfill all of its requirements.

Merkins (pubic wigs) are sometimes used for female actors, I don't know if that is because of modesty or for historical accuracy. It is disappointing when I find out a prosthetic has been use, obviously I'd rather see the real thing of either gender, but acting is make believe and an artistic or modesty choice on genitalia is as valid as a fake beard. One of my favourite things in a movie is seeing an actor aroused.

I understand the use of prosthetics. Part of the image of an actor is the implication of their great masculinity. Part of that image is that they are well-endowed. Sometimes it's a bit of a disappointment when we finally get to see the real thing. But that is Hollywood. It is all smoke and mirrors. It is all fake.

Look you can't change what you're born with and we all know lots of men who are physically magnificent everywhere except in their shorts. If the role calls for an equally magnificent cock the actor wasn't born with... you do what you gotta do. Moreover people can be so judgy and tank the entire movie just because a guy took the risk to go natural even though he comes up a bit short. And let's face it, if you're really more interested in seeing cock in a serious film than the film itself, you're probably looking at the wrong film.

If the nudity is an important and prominent part of the film/TV show, hire an actor who is comfortable showing the nudity. If it is more incidental, leave it up to the actor whether he's comfortable or not. If he is, show it, if he's not, don't. Just spare us the fucking fake cock and balls.

As far as I'm concerned, it's far more distracting when they use a prosthetic. I can't take the scene seriously. Hell, I'm now distracted during any frontal scene, either wondering whether it's real or not, or thinking that it's fake.

Prosthetics are ridiculous. Don’t include the shot if the actor is too shy - which is perfectly alright - to go full frontal.

My problem is they are taking credit for going full frontal without having the boldness to actually do it. I’m sure lots of people in the industry feel this way about it.

That is my issue. Use a prosthetic or don't use one, but don't misleed or lie to the paying public. May be wrong, but white lotus and Theo James were way up front about the use for his scene, which was the proper way to do it; a rarity. Studios and the specific actor through talk show appearances will hype through advertising and marketing that the actor is going full frontal, ie, recent examples where they misled the public they went nude or being coy around the hyped scene when asked, only to find out later it was prosthetic. It's a shade shy of illegal false advertising. Most likely because people may not spend a fortune for a movie ticket or for the streaming service to watch the show or movie. money, money, money.

This issue came up during my univ gen ed media class. the female students said they are happy to see more male nudity., but hollywood's still short of nude male to nude female equality. most females felt prosthetics were a complete cop-out, lame" or unfair. straight male response was an indifferent shrug or wanted no male nudity and would be happier for more female nudity saying 'boo f*g who' to the females response, or agreed somewhat that it's a cop-out. gay guys response was it was lame or cop-out.

As for the comment, "they owe us nothing...". "go touch grass" above, outside off their personal time/life, when it comes to appearing in movies/show/adverts, actors, like male models, sadly are a commodity, in regards to the product aka the movie/tv show. They either agree by signing a contract to the movie/show or not sign and walk away. simple as that. If they want to use a prosthetic, then Just fucking tell us if they use a prosthetic while promoting the product. And yes, we humans are basic when wanting to see their fav actor or model's dick or tits. Else why are you here on LPSG with thousands of threads about various actors, models, sports stars.,famous people naked, leaked or caught? for the stories???
