I drink a protein shake every morning on the way to work, but I do it for one reason only: I don't eat enough protein. I'm not an enormous fan of meat, and when I started analyzing my daily diet, I realized that it was very protein-deficient. I also needed to consume more dairy.

So I have a cup of milk mixed with Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein. I like this particular kind because it mixes so easily. I just put it in a plastic cup that has a lid, shake it a few times, and it dissolves quickly.

I've tried Designer Whey before, but I didn't think it dissolved nearly as well. It probably would with a blender, but I don't really feel like cleaning a blender all the time.

I have noticed a significant improvement in my general well-being since I started supplementing protein (maybe about 6 months ago)? I would recommend it for anyone who eats randomly (like I do) and doesn't pay much attention to how much protein they're getting.

I do Myoplex Plus as a meal supplement.

52 grams of proteins, mixed up, with all your vitamins and stuff.

thats also the stuff I drank when I had my big mouth wired shut for 6 weeks to keep my body healthy.

Try it out. I know you can find it online cheaper than in GNC.

Hey gang,

I have been working out for a little over 2 years now and am wanting to add some protein shakes to my eating regime. I am looking for something that: tastes good (I do not like chocolate), can be mixed with water, and packs a good amount of protein. I am not committed to whey, egg or soy.

Any suggestions?

Hmmmmmm likes protein shakes and doesnt like chocolate... Dr.Freud could have a field day with this... (Naughty runs and ducks while scarfing down her kashi bar like a good little girl....)

Are those bars I sent halfway palatable? I thought they sounded good, but had never had those before.

Yes! Actually that is what I was eating... It took a while to get over the gag reflex but I can swallow them with no problem now! No really they are very tasty. Like peanut brittle....

Here is why I do not like chocolate:

My grandmother was a fond believer in making sure that all the grandkids had their digestive systems cleaned out once a month. That meant taking a laxative, which meant taking Ex-Lax. Ex-Lax was chocolate flavored. So, to this day, I can not eat or drink anything that tastes soley of chocolate. Ugh.

I am a huge fan of protein shakes. I skip breakfast and pelace it with a prtein shake and sometimes have another at night. The average male needs between 70 and 90 grams of protein a day and gets about 30grams. You can find websites to help you determine how much protein you get a day. and ow much you need. I have done the research and whey protein is the way to go. LOL...

Here is the one I use I know they have other flavors but i like chocolate.

eBay: Optimum Nutrition Natural Whey Protein Chocolate 5lb. (item 290069967172 end time Jan-11-07 13:08:51 PST)

it is ebay and you get a free shaker.

Look into it!

My parent swear by this... PVL Whey gourmet, the current one I have beside my is creamy orangesicle swirl. It has 23g of protien, mixes with water, milk, or juice, and you can have up to 8 servings a day. It says "Double the isolates, double the flavor" which means nothing to me, but might to you *laughs*. The only thing it is a product of Canada, and distrubuted in Canada as far as the label says.. which I just read now. More info for you:
