Has anyone ever been there, I'm especially asking about the beaches, I have heard they have a nude beach, which is why I posted this here in the showoff section.

Many times. Yes there is an area of a beach up there in Herring Cove that people do use a nude beach. Not the whole beach, when you get to the cove, face the water and go left towards the lighthouse WAY down the beach. It is also a big pickup/cruise area. After all you get to see the goods and have a good idea if you are really interested... LOL Just remember one thing, P-Town is a very gay friendly place and has all kinds of special weekends geared towards that, From tea dances, bears, womens to leather. And anything else you can imagine. It is VERY artsy and has a lot of crappy touristy shops. A few really great restaurants, some amazingly good art galleries and just a feeling of not being in the real world at times. One of the best weekends i have had there was Halloween.... and no it was not just the drag queens dressing up.... you have no idea, it was a blast!

Yes you can lay out nude at Herring Cove but it is in the National Seashore and the rangers do petrol so be careful they also go under cover so if you are going to have sex go out of sight the best place to have sex is under the boatslip deck [dick dock] 1am after the bars close.

As your profile says 100% straight, same-gender sex may not be of interest to you. Do not be discouraged though. As you make the long, long, long walk towards the nude side of Herring Cove, you will pass the straight nude section first. In fact, you may notice the invisible, unofficial, change from Straight-to-Lesbian-to-GayMale, nudity. The latter is by far the largest group and the most active, but "action" occurs (mostly in the dunes but sometimes on blankets), among those so moved, regardless of orientation.

It is an illegal offense and as stated there are Rangers patrolling (on foot, vehicle, and/or horseback) so be careful. Everyone looks out for each other and you may hear a Ranger alert from neighbors. P-Town community at its best.

Guaranteed fun. BTW, the water is cold for only about 10 seconds after you fully submerge. Than, it is exhilarating!!! ENJOY!

A great place. I go every year for Bear Week, this year (2012) there were 8,000 guys in town for it. I go to Herring Cove, but do not hike the distance to the nude beach. Nice spot, for watching the guys walk by. T-dance every afternoon 4-7, you may luck out there, or in a bar afterwards. (I did...LOL)

It wasn't my first time, I have been maybe five times.
My lady was with me this time, and we had such a good time, I decided to wear a special little bathing suit for the time that I was in one.
We went to the beach and spent a few hours there, went to the main strip, had a few drinks, some food, and watched the parade. We then walked around and made a stop in a bathing suit shop down there where I tried a few pairs on and then drove back home, had a few drinks and a little fun ; )

I love Provincetown and the sections of the beach that are either mostly male of mostly female do not bother myself nor my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I love being down there, and never judge, with that being said, the different sections on the beach give both my girl and I something to enjoy. My girlfriend also loves watching the reactions I get from the guys on the beach when I walk around whether in my thong, my see-thru bathing suit, or nude. She also enjoys hearing about what interesting stories come out of the open shower area that is there at the beach.
