I used to always trim my pubes, and recently stopped.
Since stopping, there is a decent sized patch that just plain ole won't grow back. At all. It is super smooth.
Has anyone else had this happen? I'm afraid the hair is receding. I am only in my mid 20's. Any idea why this might be?
I've asked before and never got a real decent answer.

I have the same thing. i wear my pants and boxers low so I think mine is due to chafing, like my clothes rubbing it away, like socks and leg hair. that is most likely it.

That's like bald people blaming tight hats for the hair loss, totally unrelated.

But pubic balding? That's odd. Or maybe I just haven't heard of it.

Have your hormones (particularly testosterone checked). You can see this in women with estrogen deficiency also but it is common as you get older to lose more and more of your pubic hair due to the drop off in those hormones. You could have elevated levels of estrogen. Or something going on with the androgen hormones that are responsible for pubic hair growth and patterns.

I have very little pubic hair as a result. It's becoming more sparse over the last few years.

If you find out the secret, let me know. I'd like to shave my face one day and not have that hair grow back.....

Could be something to do with damaging the roots/follicles?
Women get that I think if they pluck their eyebrows out all the time, and damage the root.

Good luck anyway man - hope it grows for ya!

It happened to me too i have trimmed for years now and sometime shaved it off. I have a few patches that didn't grow back in where i constantly shaved off the sides. I just keep the side shaved off and the main pubes grown back niceely.
Also from years of wearing skinny jeans my thigh hair has permenantly worn off. It looks bizzare as my calf hair grows in thick. So now I trim down my calf hair to blend it in. On the up side i have plucked my unibrow for so long now it has never returned.
.....Um after rereadfing this is I sound like a mutant.
