Similar to you Bob; long-time pumper who has hit a plateau and looking for ways to restart gains. I have a 6" girth and usually pump at 5hg in my 2.25" cylinder. Lately I have tried packing a 1.75" cylinder and trying pressure spikes of up to 10 and 20hg in an effort to stimulate length gains. Early days so unable to judge if anything good is happening. By the way, a 10hg pressure in the smaller cylinder feels the same as 5hg in my 2.25" one, just in case anyone has safety concerns. So I'm curious to see what others are doing.
