I just wanted to know if anyone listens to the band Queen. They were an awesome band in the 70's/80's, with songs I know everyone has heard before(like "We will rock you" and "We are the champions"). The band was led by the AWESOME singer and songwriter and instrument musician Freddie Mercury(he was a gay guy, but that doesn't even matter to me). The band also featured the awsome drummer Paul Rogers(who is now the leader of the band whenever they play live. He became leader after Freddie's death from AIDS in 1991), and the great guitarist Brian May(who actually wrote my favorite Queen song, "Fat bottomed girls" ). Anyway, does anyone here like them?
The drummer was Roger Tailor who formed the band "The Cross" IIRC after Queen split up. You also missed out the Bassist John Deacon.

And I'm a bit of a queen fan myself, I often play what is IMHO their best album: A Night at the Opera.

My favorate Songs are:

Death of Two Legs
Bohemian Rhapsody
'39
Princes of the Universe
We Will Rock You
Another one Bites the Dust
Breakthrough - (simply because of the video - they play the song on the back of a steam train as it breaks through a wall!)

Queen. Was, is, and will ever be... BRILLIANT!
Pretty much says it all.

I was fortunate enough to get to see them in 1982 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Tx. I wrangled a front row seat (long story) on the right side of the center section. The three piece power rock Billy Squier band (who were on fire at the time) opened.

Quite a night.

I think it's pretty funny that at American sporting events, arguably some of the most homophobic gatherings imaginable, two of the most loved anthems are Queen's 'We Will Rock You' and Gary Glitter's 'Rock and Roll Part 2'.

Queen is not gay. I don't know why everyone says that. Of the four original band members, only Freddie Mercury was semi-gay. I can't stand when people think that if you like their music, then your gay. That pisses me off.

For me, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the tops.

Until now, when someone asks me a question on something I am not really interested in, I sing the line from Bohemian Rhapsody, "Does it really matter, ...etc."

You know, that problem disappears when you stop thinking that being gay is a bad thing.
