While we are grateful we didn't have to suffer the string of devastating cyclones (hurricanes) we did last wet season we here in Queensland are flooded for the second year in a row.

Spare a thought for all those people in South-East Queensland who hadn't recovered from last years floods only to have to face it again but this time with even fewer resources and are still battling the insurance companies for payouts.

Dragon I feel your pain the Mississippi coast is just now getting back to normal after Katrina and a few after that. Insurance companies will hold out forever. Hope everyone stays safe.

Okay I can't help it. That female newscasters voice is hot. Sorry

You'd be surprised how many people really like an Australian accent.

We're starting to get a fair bit of rain here too, but nothing like QLD.

Fingers crossed that (for QLDers at least) it passes quicker than it's meant to.

    Thanks guys.

At the moment it's absolutely tipping down and there is a lot of panic buying at the supermarkets.

It's frustrating because you think they would have had supplies put aside after last seasons floods.

Being in the Great South East :) is a wee bit wettish. Is a bugger when you have trusses all set up and it pisses down just before the roof goes on. Ahhhh well, life in the sub tropics and tropics. Would not live anywhere else for quids :)

And she can fight off the sharks swimming down the streets.

More seriously - hope it dries out soon.

Thanks for all the concern guys!
    It means a lot.
We've had a break in the weather and I was able to get outside and check for any damage and to make sure my animals were holding up well under the conditions.
Unfortunately this break isn't predicted to last long.

At the moment I'm more worried for the people in the South-East of the state who are doing it really tough.
