I admit that I'm the first to take a peek in the change room, and if a guy is flaunting it, I will take a damn good look. However, I am concious about respecting others right to go about their business without being subjected to pervy, uninvited sexual attention.

What exactly does that have to do with my response to a previous poster - not the one you quoted - and why did you feel compelled to (mis)quote me?
Not sure myself, what exactly it has to do with your response. It is a conversation Max, and that is my contribution. Make of it what you will. I have expressed my opinion on the topic of peeking at other guys in the change room, as best i can. Other posters have expressed their feelings and I believe they all have a valid point of view.
Yes, of course you are free to express any point of view you want; that's not in question. I just don't see how it relates to my post in any way whatsoever, hence my confusion over why you quoted me. It doesn't make any logical sense as 'a conversation', so I really don't know what to 'make of it'. Since you're not sure yourself, it's odder still.

I understand your feelings of disillusionment with the gay community, but i believe this thread is meant to be a light hearted look at nudity and change rooms, and the way us gay guys hook up. There is a perception that gay men are shallow and obnoxious pervs, but mostly we are all individuals, looking for the same things that everyone seeks in life...love friendshipand and mutual connection.
If you read my post you will see I gave reasons why I felt he wanted to be checked out. Go back and re-read. Whether you agree with my reasoning or not, then that's different.

Sometimes guys like these hang around my club, too. For me it's a matter of timing.
If it's the first time I've seen the guy I might quickly look, (because it's pretty clear he's showing off) and I'll simply "notice" him in the room, look him in the eye, and nod and/ or smile. I've never encountered open public showers in a gym or whatever. the ones i go to usually have separate stalls for showering...but if there's a guy walking around naked, i do tend to take a very quick look. Never had a guy flaunting himself though. I wish i could be more comfortable with using open public showers though. I'm just too self-conscious.
