Question About photos

happysucks: I see a few images posted on the forum and wanted to know if the image is a non nude - can it be posted here or is that a no no?

What are the rules on images on the forums as a whole - nude and non nude

awellhungboi: That's a really good question, Craig!  I know I wondered the same thing when I first joined the site.  I'm still wondering.

I've seen (and posted) some non-sexual pictures here--there may have even been sexier pictures posted.  I don't know if any specific rules have ever been codified.  It's always seemed pretty laissez faire.  Maybe DMW or 7x6 can answer that . . .

You can post images here but:

1. You have to host it yourself (for example, in the 40000 posts thread on Etc., that picture of Ypsilanti, Michigan's fine water tower is being hosted by the same place that hosts my avatar)

2. Although I know there have been posted images of a sexual nature, it is my understanding that, as far as on the board itself goes, nothing of a direct pornographic nature is to be posted - we had a post like that and it was pretty summarily deleted.

Other than that - I don't know of any specific guidelines - I think Mark and/or DMW might have something else to add, maybe? But that's all I can think of.

happysucks: All images would be hosted on my domain should I require an image for assistance to a topic.

I honestly just wanted to know so should I go on a trip and want to show a photo or two - where I should post it.

I'm not thinking a Craigs’ vacation folder on the yahoo site is quite what was intended when that was opened.

AnonyMs: But that is the amazing thing about this board... we are so much more than talk about large penises.  I would love to see your vacay folder, particularly if you went to a place that was incredibly cool or spectacularly dull (the humor from the dull is what would be appealing... for example, if someone went for a vacation to my hometown and took pictures of the sites there... it would be so pathetic it would be hysterical....  hmmm... maybe next time I visit Mom I will come back and regale you all with what I am talking about!).

awellhungboi: I agree with Bliss and Nony . . . I think if you posted your vacation pics that'd be great. Probably (and others can throw their two cents in here) Meet & Greet or Etc. Etc. would be the best boards for that. Where are you going?

Nobody really enjoyed the slides I took of my recent tour of America's Waste Treatment Facilities, Meat Processing Plants, and Gravel Foundries. But I had fun!

7x6andchg: Something like that, I'd say post away...pictures of any type seem to elicit pretty quick responses around here anyway....and vacation pictures are always nice for those of us that don't get to go ON them that often...*sigh*

aussiechick63: I never thought of posting anything here other than nude pics. And since I don't want anyone running from the room screaming I'm not going to post any of those either.

Uuumm Pecker, I think you can keep the worlds biggest snotball to yourself. I am sure it is a lovely pic and all but someone just may be looking while they are eating.

If I knew how to do pics on here I would put some of my local ones up for show.

I doubt anyone would WANT to see pictures of my hometown - although today, all covered in 2" of snow, it was pretty....

gigantikok: Pretty much to repeat what others have said:

Non nudes are fine to post on this site once you figure out how to do it.  Check "Administrative issues" to figure out how to host a picture if you are still confused.

My understanding is that nudes are generally not a good idea to post directly on the forum because minors browse the site.  Nude pics are more than welcome at the chat and photo posting site on Yahoo.  You can follow the link at the top of the page where it says "Chat and Photo Posting" and be led directly to it.

BTW, if your avatar is a picture of you, you bare a striking resemblence to Bruce Willis!

longtimelurker: Personally, I think the best bet with photos would be to put them in a Yahoo gallery or somesuch and post a link to them here. That way they'd be easier to browse, as it has automatic thumbnails.

That's why the pictures have to be hosted somewhere else - it takes no memory from LPSG, if my own memory (ha ha) serves.

That's why people's avatars often become red X's in the evening - there is usually a transfer limit for a free posting site...sometimes 5 MB, sometimes more...
