The reason I don't post pictures of my body is that when I showed cleavage in my avatar, the unwanted attention was disturbing, disgusting and intolerable. And I was fully clothed in that avatar. I can't imagine how awful it would be if I had nude pictures. I'm not a huge fan of objectification.

You seem to equate many partners/promiscuity with anonynous sex. This is not generally the case. I like knowing that if I want sex I have a phone full of numbers to dial based on what needs feel most pressing at the time. Sometimes I want to be immature and silly, so I'll call a guy who I know will tolerate or even participate in that behavior. Sometimes I want to be held, and I'll call someone who wants to cuddle. Sometimes I want to talk about things that are important to me: fears, failures, plans, my emotional state, and I'll call a man who wants to listen. I have, right now, 5 men I could call when I want sex, and sex with each of them comes with some other bonus. It's been like this for about three years. The five men are not all the same from three years ago (some are) but that's about how many there always are. Do I love them? Um... I dunno. Maybe some of them, but I don't want any of them for a life partner.

Like most people, I intend to find one person to settle with, but that's mostly because society claims we're supposed to be monogamous, and partly because of something that happened in my childhood. Anyway, I will eventually find someone who I could commit myself to. I'll take care of him, his home, his children and myself. (I was raised in a matriarchal environment.) Instinctively, men are more promiscuous. The aim is to get a girl pregnant. Once one child is conceived, in the wild a human male would move on to the next female, who would then have to care for the baby and so cannot realistically have as many partners as a male.

But we are not entirely wild animals. Some of us are socialised and even house trained. And with intelligence and knowledge, people can learn certain behaviours or resist natural instincts. Environment is a factor, as well as hereditary traits.

Men are naturally, historically more promiscuous. The fact that a few women fuck like it's goin out of style does not deride the basic nature of animals. Men generally make babies, women care for them. The fact that a few animals differ from this is simple variation. Variation does not immediately falsify the majority rule.

The majority rule is men get around, women are the carers. Not that they necessarily sit at home on their arses, they go out and have fun. But they don't have sex with many men.

There are certain behaviours we are born with. Generally, these dictate the way we live and interact. There are exceptions but the rule is - males make the babies, females take care of them.

Having said this, I don't care who fucks who or anything. I just acknowledge the basics of living things. Just because we live in houses, we are still animals.

For me, yes, a woman can have too many past sexual partners. The woman's number has to be within ~5 of my number. I've never had sex with someone who I wasn't in a relationship with and to me that is an important characteristic in my SO. If I suddenly woke up tomorrow and went on a binge of one-night stands, then yes my criteria would obviously change, and I wouldn't exclude women who've had these experiences in their past. But I really don't anticipate that happening.

It's not the same 5 as three years ago. Two of them are from then, the other three have been replaced a few times over. And then let's not forget I didn't suddenly becomne sexually active three years ago. That's just when my last relationship ended.

I think you are adding into the question. The question does not mention any qualifiers, it does not ask how the woman knew the men, or if she knew them. It simply asks if there is a number where there is too many.

So, based on how you've been responding, I'm assuming that for you, it's not so much a quantity issue, but a quality issue. If a woman has many partners, but they were not strangers, to you, this is not as big a deal as a woman who had the same number of partners, but she only stayed in touch with a few of them. Is that what you are saying?

I personally hate this double standard. I don't agree with 'Men who sleep around being studs' and 'women who sleep around are sluts'.

My current gf is very experienced,and has had several partners prior to me.She's a sexually liberated woman, it doesn't intimidate me,and at this point and time,I'd rather a woman in bed who knows what she's doing.I don't feel like being a baby sitter.

My concern is the here and now. We both tested prior to getting involved,and test periodically now.
